even if you do not have 3d buy that version for $4 more on amazon and sell the 3d disc on ebay or craigslist for $15 or more and that will help bring down your purchase cost... referring to christmas carol 4 disc

O man it's almost the release date. It's either I get this or Disney's Christmas Carol ... decision, choices ...

Did you open it yet? I'm pretty sure you can still return it unless making the trip back there is a drag...

O NOW I geddit. My bad you meant this version of the movie came out earlier than the street date 'cause I saw it on my local Wal-Mart last Friday. But the price tag was a ridiculous $36. Man I dunno if I'm up for this. Hoping on the street date it goes down.

Just received from Amazon and popped it in. I have to say. This is probably the worst 3D Bluray I have seen. Ghosting throughout. I have a Samsung 8000 series TV and the Samsung C6900 BD3D player. Anyone else seeing the constant ghosting?

I'm so glad I'm only going after the 2D part. This is probably a dumb question but the 2D disc features the DTS-HD MA track right? And for curiosity sake and I know it may not matter but are they both dual layered?

EDIT: I also need an opinion. DTS-HD MA and Dolby True HD - barely difference since they're both lossless right? I'm thinking if the video quality in the 2D part of this releases barely has difference I'm just gonna go after the anaglyph release for the Dolby True HD lossless.

Sorry I'm kinda need to know since I only want to make one trip to the mall.

DTSHDMA = Dolby TrueHD, if the source is the same.

Default Polar Express, an opinion.

My copy of 'The Polar Express' arrived on my doorstep here in the UK at about ten am. This was a welcome surprise, I figured I'd have to wait about a week before getting it.

I had no time to watch it when I got the disc but I was more than pleased with the slip case. Just like Disney's version of 'A Christmas Carol', the cover was a 3D lenticular showing the Express snaking its way toward the lights in the distance with Hero Boy on the top of the last carriage.

Anyway, when I got home, I made myself a hot drink(it's freezing here in the UK) and settled in to watch the 100 minute movie. Even the menu screen(a larger version of the lenticular sleeve) was impressive. But what, you're asking yourself, of the movie?

Well, true to form, the film is pristine. I couldn't find any ghosting from film start to film finish. And that, to me, is the most important aspect of all since ghosting can effectively remove you from the story. I don't know what others are thinking about when they watch a 3D movie but I'm sure that even they will be irritated with crosstalk(as I was with the two IMAX movies I got this week: 'Dinosaurs Alive' and 'Wild Ocean'), I think it's called.

I can't comment on any of the extras since I haven't gotten round to watching them. I'm just happy the film is as good as anything I've purchased and received this far. Maybe later I'll edit this review if I feel it's relevant after I've had a chance to check out the bonus features.

Enough said. If you haven't ordered it or purchased this, but are maybe thinking of doing so, don't hesitate. Place an order with Amazon or eBay or get out to the shops and get this film! It's well worth the purchase price.

The next one I'm looking forward to getting(another Warner Bros release) is the owl movie: 'Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole' and, if this release is anything to go by, that'll be well worth the wait.

Chat to you again soon.

John.

Someone screwed up with the ordering at Best Buy. Not one of the stores in my area got Polar Express in on time. They have every other title releasing today except Polar Express.

Insert many curse words right here.

Yep mine turned up today, 6 days later but it got here, saving this one also but i could not resist a quick flick through it, slight blurs at the very begining but looks ok for a oldish movie i guess its ok, i need to check it out and watch in all gliry to really validate it but it looks ok. To be honest its a great xmas movie so no matter what the 3d the story is great and will have me fixed.

Kinda still expecting things to really fly out but i guess its all about the depth perseption but ill have to watch fully to appreciate the full expericene. Sving for xmas eve along with xmas carol. For anyone that loves this movie then its a most! I think fantaisafilmlover summed this one up. Go Grab it

Looking forward to seeing this one. First watched this when my son was younger, and he is 7 now and still loves this.

He is getting a little 3D snob now though. Refuses to watch Toy Story 3 as this is not in 3D

So for those that have watched this at home in 3D, at the theaters, there is a scene in the movie where the front grill/nose of the train comes out at you. Does it do the same on this Blu-Ray?

Decided to quit waiting for Best Buy. They have it on order but it's not even been shipped out to them yet. Not sure what the deal is with that.

Just ordered it off amazon. I'm supposed to receive it on Saturday. that was easy lol. I didn't realize what great shipping rates amazon has. May have to go that way for 3D content more often. Fast shipping and still pay less.

I'll be watching for that train to come out at me.

I know exactly what you´re talking about! I remember that particular scene too.
For those who already own it, please advise!
