Its gonna be the history of Space Jokey (or whatever the monster in the first film was called)

I am pretty sure there will be no humans in this movie at all, and I have a feeling that this will become a once in a decade type of masterpiece.

I'm guessing that the prequels will be about the early days of space colonization by humans aside from revealing details about the space jockey and where he came from. The story is supposed to be about 30 years before the first Alien movie which means that it probably involves the Weylan-Yutani corporation and their participation in the terraforming of other planetary bodies for human colonization and weapon development.

Weylan-Yutani have always been a part of the Alien universe and their interest have always been profiting from human expansion in space. With each Alien movie, there have always been some reference to this corporation. In Aliens, they had already begun colonizing the planet where the Alien entity was first discovered. Weylan's representative, Burke, was tasked with trying to get a specimen for study after they got Ripley's testimoney from her expedition 50 years earlier. In Alien: Resurrection, Weylan-Yutani, once again, attempted to their hands on the Alien by cloning Ripley. In AVP, Weylan's founder first encounter the Alien on Earth in a secret proving ground in the Arctic.

So I would say that the story will have space marines involving in the initial phase of exploration of some planets as possible terraforming candidates. This expedition would probably be funded by Weylan-Yutani or they would be involved to some degree if they are not the primary driver of the trip. The marines may encounter the space jockey and the Alien entities as part of this trip. Assuming that I guess right, the prequels would be showing us details about what happens when humans venture into space and encountering another sentient race and running into an Alien horror. The prequels would be about: 30 years before the first movie, 80 years before Aliens, and about 230 years before Alien: Resurrection.

In the first Alien, Weylan knew about the xenomorphs. That's why Ripley went off on Ash

I'm a pretty open-minded guy, and I'm looking forward to this.

But I suspect that history will prove you wrong on both of these predictions.

It's been a long time since I've seen these movies you might be right, I just vaguely remember around 50+ years.

That's true but the reason Alien 4 was called Alien: Resurrection was because Ripley was cloned from DNA of the original Ripley who died in Alien 3. In Resurrection, the Ripley clone was bleeding acid and she did discover a lab that housed several failed earlier clones of the real Ripley. The Ripley clone was created hoping that she would give birth to another Alien. That's why the creature in the movie did not attack her because the clone was its mother. I forgot some of the detail regarding how the Alien came from the clone but they did bonded by the end of the movie when the Ripley clone was trying to crash the ship they were on.

Good point, but I don't know if they truly knew what the xenomorphs were like. I may have to watch it again to see if there were any indications that they had detail knowledge about the xenomorphs and how dangerous they were.

They got DNA from the lab when he took her blood when she arrived in the medic room in Alien 3 but unsure if thats what help create the half and half alien......

It's been widely known that Ridley Scott has been looking for a female lead for the movie, so I definitely think there is going to be humans

So...maybe someone can put this to rest once and for all

What or who is Lance Henriksen in Alien 3?

At first I thought he was just another droid. Then after seeing the assembly cut, I thought he was the actual Bishop creator. Then after seeing AVP, again I thought maybe he was a droid with red blood who fully believed he was human. Then I thought maybe he was a clone of Charles Bishop Weland.

So in short: What the Hell is he lol ?

Alien 3 script says he's human. I wouldn't take AVP's retroactive explanation into account, it's not canon with the Alien series anyway, FOX have said they see it as a separate universe, ditto Alien and Predator.

Is it safe to assume that no-one will survive the events of the Alien prequel/s? you know...live to tell about it.

I do think the idea of a prequel is interesting. I think Portmans character will die trying to keep the alien spacecraft a secret by intentionally crashing it on a planet (LV-426) she believes the company would have no interest in with the space jockey helping out by creating the "warning beacon".

who knows...the possibilites are endless but i don't think anyone walks away from this film alive given the nature of the first Alien film.

With all the discussion about doing an Alien Prequel......why hasn't anyone ever considered the "Aliens:Earth Hive" trilogy or the original "Aliens vs Predator" trilogy written by Steve Perry (not the Journey singer).

I read these in the 1990's and they were a terrific read. Much better storylines than in the recent film releases.

Can't we have a guy be the main hero in the Aliens franchise for once, strong female leads have been beaten like a dead horse.

Agreed. By all means have some strong female characters but I'd prefer a male lead this go-around.
