My suggestion to you is as follows:

- If you want to be an early adopter or really want to experience 3D, by all means go for it, but realize there will most likely be a lot of improvements in the next 2 years or so, so your set *may* get outdated really fast.

- Or, if you are looking to upgrade your TV anyway, for instance if you want a bigger set, then maybe consider paying a few bucks more and get a 3D ready TV.

I personally was looking for a 55inch set (not necessarily with 3D) to replace my 50inch Panasonic, which I would then move downstairs to replace my 42 panasonic there, which in turn would then be used to replace my 32 inch in the bedroom.

Anyway, I found a good deal online on a Sony Bravia, 3D ($1899 for the KDL-55HX800, with transmitter, two goggles and blu-ray player) and decided to jump on it. Even for a 2D Bravia TV, that is a relatively good price.

As I said, I suspect that TV to be obsolete in the next 2 - 3 years as 3D is concerned, but will buy a new set then to replace it, and do the whole TV shuffle thing all over again, kicking out the 32inch.
I would be very cautious if I were you, that price is too good to be true......usually online retailers which offer those kind of prices are usually scam sites from New York.
