Default Species - worth owning?

Species

Species Blu-ray Review

The two reviews I've read don't exactly make it sound like a great disc but is it worth owning for someone who loves the film itself? Am I going to notice an upgrade with this BD over the DVD version?

According to the one review by Home Theater there is an improvement and with a little tweaking of the tv it can look quite good. If you don't already own it on dvd then why not go for it. I was tempted to get it myself but what do I do with my dvd copy.

Its by far reference material.... Soft and "B" looking. But if you like the movie get it!!!! Plus I'll take Natasha over your girl Kate anyday....
I responded to one of your post on "another forum"... It was in regards to Kate in a movie called "Haunted". Did you see it???? The movie sucks, but if your a fan of hers than I highly recommend it!!!!

well considering i got it from frys when the had one of there $13.99 specials I am more than happy with it.
It is a great step up from the dvd which I used to own. Its not the most greatest Blu-ray ever but I have seen far worse.
If you like the movie then go for it.

Are you another Canadian that doesn't realize you can order from Amazon.com?

The price for Species is $14.95. You save $25-$30 even with shipping, and there's no duty fees from my experience.

Question Species blu-ray, worth keeping?

Species was one of my 5 freebies and I have yet to open it. I have seen most of the first movie on TV and consider it pretty good. I am not one to keep anything with gratuitous nudity, but "incidental" is ok.

Is it worth keeping and getting the sequel, or would I just end up calling them "Feces", and "Feces: The Real Number 2"

I think you can answer this one yourself. The question is: do you like the movie? If your answer is yes then keep it, if no then don’t.

Well, I thought the TV version was good. But TV is going to edit out nudity. I need the feedback of anyone who has seen the whole thing. I don't want to open it if there is a chance of it being gifted, or exchanged.

That's funny, I haven't opened my "Species" freebie either. It seems to be the Akilies heel of the free Blu-ray movies. You can buy them starting for $10 on the Amazon marketplace.

Every time there's a free give away "Species" is also on the list. I remember when DVD first introduced. It was the same way. I think my brother got that when he bought his first DVD player.

I think it is a good movie, although I consider myself a Natasha Henstridge fan (nudity being a good thing). I find it enjoyable on its on, however I dont think anyone will confuse it with say, a LOTR calibre movie! I have it coming in my freebies and I will definitely keep it.

if you have a problem with sex/nudity in films, dont keep it. there's quite a bit of it in the disc version. considering her goal in the story is to mate in order to produce an offspring, i dunno if it should be considered gratuitous.
