Thanks. Of course it's locked.

At the rate Disney is releasing catalog BDs, who knows when we'll get it in the US.

I'll definitely be picking this up as I loved this movie when it was first released. I've seen it numerous times over the years, and I still love it. Who can forget the memorable line from the movie: "I'm not above the law, I AM the law!"

And Diane Lane is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Very unusual to have english subs instead of german and two making of with only different language, sounds strange

The DVD had the same specs. And yes, only English Subtitles.
Blu Ray comes from the same company that releases the DVD back then.

It was indeed a bit strange back when i had the DVD. But i watch the Movie in German dub so i don't need German subtitles.

Judge Dredd, I really liked it, I think it was one of the first movies I actually bought on VHS. I still have a large book all about the making of the film, with sketches and storyboard illustrations. I remember the book so well because it had a huge photo of one of his guns, which I used to trace all the time. Also had a cool photo of Sly lighting a cigar with a blow torch.

I'm looking forward to this on blu ray. The fact that it hasn't turned up on BD anywhere (that I know of) speaks volumes about either how much fear the English-speaking territories have of the money they think they'll lose by releasing it or how much disrespect the film has with the licence holders.

I own the Universum release of Escape From New York. The English subs on that were on par with standard English releases, fully removable. Escape From.. was rated PG 16, same as Judge Dread and it was the same cut as the old Optimum release on blu ray. So, I'd say it'll be OK with the head butt left in. That said, distributors are weird little creatures, prone to fits of nervousness and irrationally due a fear of money loss or civil suits so fingers crossed.

The Blu Ray is out in Germany.

Comparison betweend German DVD and the new Blu Ray:
http://screenshotcomparison.com/comp...5497/picture:0

Looks good!

The Cover and Disc Label says Region A/B/C but the Disc is B locked

It has German and English Subtitles. The German DVD had only English Subtitles which was weird.
The Subtitles on the BD are removable.

So any one of you who can play Region B Discs should purchase this Release.
I'm happy and still surprised that germany ist the first country on the world that gets Dredd on BD.

Oh, and Diane Lane Headbutt is in it
