Theres no difference at all. Just a stupid new "Collection" Sony started and called it: "Sony Essentials". Same disc, same content, same transfer, same audio, same BD case, same everything. Only with the addition of having a very fugly and unappreciated slipcover.

Damn, that's a shame.
They could of at least done SOMETHING new and added something cool with them...
Missed opportunity on Sony's part.

so just to make sure: only the slipsleeves have this ugly new artwork?
the actual bluray case artwork is the same as the old releases, right?

You are correct.

Not sure why members don't like these slipcovers. I think they look really nice up-close and in-person.

These Sony discs are not to be confused with the Canadian Alliance line also titled 'Blu-ray Essentials', which are a BD, DVD & lenticular slipcover.
