What was that about VA tech sucking because they let down against BSU and then stumbled in shocking fashion to James Madison?

Well Va Tech does benefit from a weak schedule. Their only win against a ranked team this year is against NC St. The Big East is just aweful this year.

They do but again the bias keeps schools like this in the ratings... Just like when Michigan lost to App state if I'm not mistaken by the end of the year they were back in the top25.

Michigan finished at #18 that year. But in fairness that ranking was deserved. They finished a decent 9-4 that year and beat Florida in a Bowl game. It turned out to be Tebow's only bowl game defeat of his college career.

Looks like the new BCS standings are out. Boise St. narrowed the gap between themselves and TCU significantly as expected. Most likely they'll pass TCU as long as they beat Nevada. LSU also fell further behind Boise and TCU so as long as either Oregon or Auburn drops a game it's practically guaranteed that Boise would make the title game.

An Oregon/Boise State title game would be a hell of a matchup. Hopefully we get that game.

I'll bet having Boise St. in the title game would actually boost TV ratings. A lot of people would probably tune in to see a small school finally get a shot at the title.

All we need is Blount to show up, and we'll be good to go!

what exactly makes you think that there's "no way in hell" Auburn beats bama? their defense is nowhere near as good as last year, neither is their offense. just because the game is in BDS in Turd-Town doesn't mean crap. Auburn led that game last year for 59 minutes with a gimp armed qb and a defense WORSE than we have this year. not to mention, we have Cam, who WILL NOT be stopped. sorry, it ain't gonna happen guy, you can keep wishing, but you're more than likely gonna be disappointed at the end of the day.

you're acting as if bama hasn't lost a game all year and are still the best team in the country, and that they just stomp a mudhole in Auburn year in and year out, which isn't even close to being true. as a matter of fact, since Bryant has been gone from bama, we hold the lead over them in the past 30 or so years. we've also only lost to bama in BDS once, which was in 2008, which also happened to be our worst season in a while.

wont be easy, but Cam has been nasty all year and no reason to think he doesnt play well on that big stage either...I'm a gamecock fan as thats where i went to school, so I dont care for Auburn much, but Cam has been sick this year

I can't believe BSU is still 4th or that Wisconsin is the 3rd ranked 10 and 1 team.

I heard during last week's BCS show that if Auburn loses to Alabama but wins the SEC Championship game they'd have a great chance at passing Boise and TCU. It would come down to where Auburn was ranked. If they were ranked 4th or 5th their strength of schedule might be enough to jump both schools.

We'll find out Friday afternoon, but I stand by my opinion that Alabama will win. It's not an easy stadium to win in, and that place is going to be rocking. It's an issue of pride for them and you can bet your bottom dollar that if Saban can't be playing for the national title, he's going to see to it that Auburn won't be playing for it. You also have to factor in that with all the distractions regarding Cam Newton and the issues that he has, it's going to catch up to that team sooner or later. Cam Newton is a wonderful athlete, but he's also human. I think this is the week where he looks mortal.

For what it's worth Alabama is a 4 point favorite over Auburn. Sounds about right to me.

Auburn is either going to lose in a close one or blow Alabama out, the difference to me is Alabama's defense is nowhere near as good as it was last year so they will have a tough day stopping Cam Newton.

Yeah I don't see Bama running away with it, but that sounds about right.
