IMO Sharp is a very trusted brand. I have seen only quality from them.
I have small sharp TV, its almost 10years old and had several bad experiences here @ home but its still works like new and stands its quality.

I am looking foreword for the Sharp Blu-ray player!

Default Nice!!

Sharp is certainly not to be ignored. Can you tell where the disc tray is? Is it behind the Blu-Ray Disc symbol?

This is definitely one to keep an eye out for, if it has BD-Live compliance, it will be my next player.

I've never been a fan of Sharp, though I have had products from them in the past (over 15 years ago). That is a very nice looking unit though.

Yes the tray is behind the BD logo. You can see the outline of it if you look at the right side of it.

The player looks nice. I might have to give it a look see too, if the Sony and Panasonic 2nd Gen players don't decode DTS-MA or True HD.

I think this player is very futuristic indeed. I don't see how it's not. And what will make it even more futuristic, sexy and ahead of the curve is if it's fully capable of decoding DTS HD and DOLBY TRUE HD. Add to that an hdmi 1.3 input and this might just be one of the most sought after players on the market in 2007.

I also like this design as is, it has no need to be more futuristic. Elegant, classy and will perfectly match y D62 Sharp panel. Bring it on, Sharp!

Hi Kierre,

Regarding your question, the tray is on the upper right side of the player, just where the Full High Definition... legend is, and over the sound logos. Actually, several of the new Sharp DVD recorders in Japan have the same design. You can see them at: http://www.sharp.co.jp/hi-vision/recorder/index.html
