Blu-ray and 60hz LCDs

You will get some judder in fast panning shots, but overall the experience shouldn't be ruined if you go with a quality set.

Most plasma's only have a 60hz 3:2 pulldown and there are tons of happy plasma users. (some high end models provide a 48hz, 72hz or 96hz modes just for 24p movies, but can produce flicker).

Both of the TV's which I own are 60hz models and I haven't ever had a movie experience ruined because of some judder during a fast moving or panning shot. Ultimately, if you are really worried about judder, then I suggest you pick up a model that has a true 24p mode that will do an even pulldown (not all 120hz LCD/LED's will do an even pulldown properly). Good 120hz TV's will do a 5:5 (24x5), and give you much less judder than a 60hz set. 240hz TV's will do 10:10 (24x10).
