Hi I am going to the US in Dec, to NY, Vega, and LA. Where are the best places to pickup cheap or on sale Bluray movies? And do they have large selections instore?
Or should I just purchase some Black Friday deals from Amazon? Do they get this cheap instore? |

So far 19 titles
Fellowship of the Ring ($7.99 @ Amazon) The Two Towers ($7.99 @ Amazon) Return of the King ($7.99 @ Amazon) The Hangover ($10 @ Amazon) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Collection (4 movies (3 watchable ones ![]() Apollo 13 (~$7 @ Amazon) Smokin Aces ( ~$7 @ Amazon) Mr and Ms Smith ($7.99 @ Amazon) Ultimate Matrix Collection (4 Movies, 6 discs) ($22 shipped from OverStock) 19 movies so far... I can't afford to save anymore so I'm trying to ignore the rest of the "deals". This stuff will get wrapped up for X-mass, so if I'm on your list you can cross me off already. ![]() Last edited by bhampton; 11-24-2010 at 07:02 PM. |

So far I've only picked up THE EXPENDABLES from BB for $19.99. No sale purchases yet for me, I'm saving myself for a midnight Walmart trip.
UPDATE: My first true sale purchase: PREDATORS online from BB for $9.99 with free shipping. (Saves me going to BB at 5am!) Last edited by jawsfan1975; 11-25-2010 at 02:06 PM. |

I’ve been holding off on purchases for so long, to keep cash on hand for Alien Anthology and Back to the Future, that once I acquired them, it has been quite a liberating feeling to be able to purchase other titles.
Best Buy actually came in less than I planned for, plus I redeemed my Reward Zone points; I had enough leftover to grab Zombieland when I got Alien Anthology and Back to the Future. Not related to Black Friday, but it was cool to have this in time for Halloween. I finally got The Planet of the Apes set ($44.99 foxconnect.com). This was one of those “I will get one of these days” sets, and just thought that for $9.00 each, I had better order this before they are sold out. This set arrived last Friday. Not exactly a Black Friday purchase, but purchased during Black Friday season, more or less. Likewise the Batman Anthology. Though not technically a Black Friday purchase, but I have been watching the price of this since release, and for $40.00, I could no longer resist. With the Nolan films getting all my attention (and viewings) the last few years, I had forgotten how much I love these four films (yes even B&R) Logan’s Run Another “I will get one of these days” Blu-rays, and for $10, I could no longer resist. Now on to actual Black Friday purchases: I pulled the trigger on Harry Potter years 1-6 on Tuesday. I will not include this in “my” collection, as it is for my daughter. I am very pleased I am finally going to see these movies ! And, I am getting up early Friday and am going for: BestBuy Predators 9.99 Kick-Ass 9.99 Watchmen (Directors Cut) 7.99 2012 12.99 And since I now have the other five “modern” Batman movies, I predict Batman Begins will be joining my other Batman double dips this week. If really see it for $5.00 at Walmart, it is a no-brainer. I am on the fence with these: BestBuy The Crazies 7.99 (blind buy) Saving Private Ryan 9.99 Daybreakers 9.99 (blind buy) Wolverine Origins 9.99 (blind buy) Legion 9.99 (blind buy) Boondock Saints 9.99 (blind buy) The Book of Eli 12.99 (blind buy) Target Lord of the Rings 7.99 (holding off for the extended versions) Inglorious Basterds 12.99 (blind buy) Walmart The Wizard of Oz 10.00 Terminator Salvation 10.00 (blind buy) The Wolfman 10.00 (blind buy) Legion 5.00 (blind buy) Night at the Museum 2 5.00 The Mummy 5.00 (blind buy) Last edited by mars396; 11-25-2010 at 03:36 AM. |

So far, I've only ordered the Back to the Future: 25th Anniversary Trilogy from Amazon yesterday.
I'm waiting till Friday to go out and get what I want, from places like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and Hastings. P.S. That Gran Torino $5.00 lightning deal is such a steal!! It'd be real nice to get it at that price...if I didn't already have the movie in my collection right now. |
