just received "Thin Red Line" from B&N in the mail, and the top left back corner of the case was cracked pretty bad. I emailed Jon Mulvaney at Criterion, and he responded within seconds to send me a new clear case.

Way to go Criterion, customer satisfaction is #1 with you guys, and it shows.

Impressed

Betcha "Jon Mulvaney" is not a real person, just a group of people who work @ Criterion.

I'll take that bet. I met him last December when I was down in NYC.

Do you have to pay for that? My Crumb case is well cracked along the top, but I figured I'd have to drop some money to replace it, so I let it go like the cool cucumber that I am. However...

If I every have a problem with damaged packaging that isn't my fault I always attach a photo or two along with my e-mail. I don't wait weeks to do it, either. I make it a point to send off the e-mail as soon as possible. I sometimes even send a photo of my receipt/invoice. I've never had a problem by providing this small courtesy along with my e-mails to Criterion. Just this week I had to send off my DVD of "Sawdust And Tinsel" because the inner plastic ring was cracked when I opened it. You have to send back the damaged discs to Criterion, but then they send you a replacement.

I cannot wait for Cronos. It will be a terrific Blu-ray release, no doubt.

Anyway, I just watched The Magician and thoroughly enjoyed it. Fantastic imagery, and that attic scene was particularly great. Oh, and the character of Sara was wicked hot! I can say that, I'm still a teenager. Never got tired of her scenes.

Now I have something to do on Saturday or Sunday evening.
Today, its either I-Robot or the Departed.

Would like to see Peter Greenaway's "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover" get the royal CC treatment.

Hey...I just realized. Based on the number of replies, we're in second place behind the "The BD Slipcover List and Discussion Thread"...

What a chatty group!

Has anyone who got the email from B&N saying their BBS Story was delayed now received a shipping email? I'm looking for some hope that my order might ship soon!

In my defense, I saw people saying they had gotten an email saying it shipped, but I didn't go back to see if those were the same people who had posted about getting the delayed notice.

Thanks, just got my $5.99 Image blu-ray copies of Time Bandits, The Long Good Friday, Mona Lisa and Withnail and I. I posted that here because there are DVD Criterion versions of all these titles. (I figured for 5.99 a pop, what the hell)

Gonna watch "Withnail and I" tonite, never seen that one but I'm a sucker for a good ol' British film, and it's on the BFI top 100 list!
