I believe that is something we are supposed to think to. I am very curious to see how that pans out over the course of the series. She is always around for the real emotional scenes of the series.

Oh btw, who here had a complete 180 from what they thought was going on between Maureen and John? Granted with Tommy dieing at the time, it was still a really shitty thing to be in another country, but I had thought Mo was just a fling, another crow eater and as it turned out she was actually John's real love, and he no longer had the feelings for Gemma anymore, even as Clay was moving in closer to her. After "knowing" for three years the things I did about the relationship, it really kind of turned everything upside down for me, so I'd imagine it's really going to make major changes for Jax again too.

Although I do wonder when Jax said "I'm done listening to dead men" if that on top of for that brief time when he let Abel go, and came back and told Gemma "I let him go, Ma" if that means with all the never ending violence in his life, all the murders he's committed if he finally realized he is no longer that wide-eyed Prince who wanted to change the future of the club in season one. He once said it would take five years but really with the way they are heading, and not to mention the major power change that could come if they start dealing with the Russians, the club might end up becoming so powerful that there is just no changing. I definitely feel like last night's episode was a major pivotal moment in the series, and could create lots of changes in the characters as well as the show. Look at Tara, even the doc has been transitioning as an innocent over the time she has spent with Jax, she has now watched several characters die and one at her own hands. That has got to change her and she cannot remain untouched by all the violence being Jax Teller's old lady brings.

I expected the John/Maureen to be as serious as it has become.

I NEVER got the impression that John & Gemma were some "forever" couple. Everytime she spoke about him, especially with Clay - she always had a despising tone about it. To me, she's always come off as the ultimate "Crow-eater". She only wanted the Alpha-male - and when John stopped being that guy, and started reflecting on the shit he'd done, stepping away from the MC lifestyle that SAMCRO had become - she moved straight on to Clay.

Every time Maureen was on the screen you could tell she was hurt. Everytime John was mentioned there was a longing about her face. For them it was real - and she knew the real john - the "how SAMCRO lost their way" John.

I agree with you, their relationship will flip Jax's mind. Once he reads those letters Maureen put in his bag - the next dynamic, and probably seasonal arc may be created. Those letters may contain bombshells that will turn his world upside down.

I'm all for wherever they take the show, now that the Abel storyline that was drug out for 10 episodes longer than it should have been is now done.

Drawn out, but necessary. The delays & stalling helped lay the foundation for what comes next - Sutter said it himself in one of his blog posts - "There are a lot of deeply personal themes weaved throughout this mythology and this season we experience a chunk of them".

I have absolutely no problem with how this season is playing out. A lot of SAMCRO comes form the past - and we needed to find out what that was.

I'm pretty sure that once he has finished all 7 seasons - and you watch them back to back on BluRay - Season 3 will fit in perfectly.

Kind of reminds me of the 2nd season of the Wire. Very slow, and nothing like Season 2. Completely different pace & tone, and probably cost them a lot of return viewers for season 3 - but still fantastic and gave you a greater insight into the main characters that wern't called "McNulty".

During the first two seasons I blindly followed and never questioned Sutter, but this season he took to long to get to very important details just for the sake of making it last another episode. You could tell he was as burned out as he blogged about and his heart just was not fully in it this season. There was absolutely no reason getting Abel back should have taken 11 episodes, they had delay after delay and none of them where necessary and completely un-character like for Jax. It's not that I was bored I was just very frustrated, they are doing the exact same thing with Tara and her kidnapping now, right after she ganked his b*tch and he was kneeling with her at the shower turned away and she had the gun on him, she could have finished him right there, but no, she didn't and now it's going to be another full week before she returns to Jax. It's very unnecessary and I just haven't been able to understand why it's played out like it has.

I'm sure like you said season 3 will play out a lot better once it's all over and you don't have that week to week to deal with, but in the past all I looked forward to all week was my SOA experience, it was my church and my whole family and my buddies came over for this too, and this season every single one of us has become frustrated with it and lost a lot of our love for it out of this frustration. I just hope that we get the finale that this show deserves and that next season is much better without all this drawn out unnecessary crap. I'm all for drama, I don't need shootings and death all the time, but seriously there was absolutely no reason for it to take 11 episodes to get Abel back when you watch through the episodes again and see the kind of delays they had, you'll see what I'm talking about.

i gota completely agree with you on this one...i just cant see this 'fitting in perfectly' into the whole 7 seasons unless something mindblowing happens very soon...

for me its been somewhat of a 'filler season' (cant believe im even using that word in a SOA thread) - based on the previous seasons its very obvious sutter is in a creative slump

@russ103 - i agree season 2 (port focused) of the wire was very different but i was still very thoroughly entertained by it...

I know exactly how you feel, using bad words to describe SOA is something I never thought would be possible, but with all this filler it's gotta be used....

REAL strong episode tonight, lots of twists and turns. Next week's 90 minute finale looks to be a real crazy one with that huge reveal from the previews. Not sure if Lyla will
[Show spoiler]agree to marry Opie, when just a day or two ago she aborted their baby saying the time wasn't right.

i agree.. strong episode and the preview of the finale looks wild... but i have a problem..
[Show spoiler]

stahl's "confession" at the end of tonight's episode.. she claimed that her partner (Amy something i think?) was first on the scene, shit went down, and stahl was lied to... my recollection of that whole sequence, which the audiences was privy to most of, is that stahl and her team (which didnt include Amy) had the situation locked down and stahl asked to be left alone with jimmy's son... how is it possible that Amy could have been first one the scene when an entire ATF team knew that stahl was in the house? am i missing something? do i need to go back and watch something?

No, you didn't miss anything,
[Show spoiler]and at the time Stahl was still working with her male partner. We're just not supposed to remember any of this, lol.

thats what i thought... thanks for the sanity check..
[Show spoiler] it's kind of upsetting that a show this good is driving a major story line off such a blatantly obvious plot hole

You can really tell that Sutter truly was burned out during this season. He needs a long break to get back to where he was.

It was nice to finally get a much bigger piece of the Tig/Kozik puzzle. We knew it was about a woman, and I was wondering maybe it had been his daughter, but as it turned out his girl
[Show spoiler]Missy was a German Shepard. I never would have thought it possible for Tig to love anything so much, let alone a dog. That was a great moment. I'm curious as though to what role Kozik played in this. Did he leave the clubhouse door open and she ran out and got hit? The entire club seems to be in on the massive problems they have and by their reactions all season long, I thought Kozik had accidentally killed Tig's wife or something. It must have been very bad if it resulted in him having to change chapters and years later he still cannot forgive him. Pretty crazy and unexpected twist, but considering how much I love my Rottie/Shepard I definitely can relate to Tig.

I want Kozik to return too but the reveal of what him and Tig were fighting over was dumb. It was meant to be funny but was handled very poorly.

Solid episode. Despite being frustrated all season, I am still stoked for the finale.
