Hey Atane,

I applaud your decision to go 2.1! Anyhow, why isn't your TT on the rack of silence? Let me know if you no longer want it as I'd gladly pry off your hands the next time I'm at NYC

Great set up man! Everything looks stunning! All the gear is top notch. I like the squeezebox touch, and I also like the fact that you run the media to a DAC. Currently I use the squeezebox software (on HTPC with good sound card) and use my pronto remote as the controller. Looks kinda like your sanos controler. I will try to work towards a system like yours one day. Thanks for sharing it with us on the forum.

Hi Atane,

It sure is good seeing you back on the forum, and why am I not in the least susprised that you went 2.1 exclusively? As usual your system is a pleasure to look at and I hope you'll start posting your vinyl purchases again.

John

Hey John,

Will definitely be posting my vinyl purchases. I've been busy.

Yeah, the DAC is really convenient and makes everything sound better. I will always have one going forward. PS Audio makes excellent products.

What's up Rhett?

Moved it because I wanted to give the Rotel amp breathing room. The TT is also more accessible, which is good, but can be bad when I have company over. They always want to touch it. Already had a close call when this lady wanted to play club DJ on it.

Oh, gotcha! Anyhow, I am planning on getting a pair of Solid Tech solo 3radius or Naim Fraims for my audio gear. I'd get the rack of silence if I can swing it though, so we'll see what 2011 brings. Anyways, the rig is looking good buddy!

First of all, I think your setup looks awesome. From the looks of it, aesthetics seem to be very important to you, did they have any effect on your decision to go 2.1 exclusively?

I ask this because one of my pet-peeves is having wires running all around my room. I can't wait for the day when I have my own house so I can run wires through the walls.

Thanks. Aesthetics didn't play a role, although having more space and less stuff is welcomed. My 5.1 system wasn't sloppy, and I routed the wires as best as I could. I don't have the luxury or space for a dedicated room. My living room is my space, so it has to be neat.

I just remodeled my family room/theater room. Once I got everything done, I set up my 2 tower speakers (with built in sub woofers) and a brand new POLK center channel.

I never got around to setting up the surrounds mainly cause I didn't want to deal with speaker wire going all around the room ....

So now I guess I have a 3 channel system...

I must admit I don't really miss the rear surrounds that much.... there are and always were a few great examples of surround sound but there are not a ton of great examples (the scene in DRAGON HEART where the dragon is flying around talking to Dennis Quaid comes to mind)..

I'm perfectly okay without the rears....

The last time I watched a blu-ray movie was on my laptop on a flight. I can't even tell you the last time I watched a blu-ray disc at home. It's mostly music these days. Suffice to say, surround sound isn't missed here.

How's it going today ?

In my renewed love of vinyl I have been playing alot of Jazz/Rock fusion but today I changed my mind whilst going through my crates and decided to play this GEM (I'm sure most members never heard of).......

and then I played....

Yes, the sub is great for LFE. The B&W CM9 leaves a lot to be desired if you like your bass deep. The JL Audio Fathom takes care of that with ease.
