Criterion could prob get PTA's Sydney/Hard Eight or maybe even Punch Drunk Love since it seems it's been rumored forever. I don't know where it came from, but someone on facebook said Criterion is working on The Fountain, for you Aronofsky fans.

this makes sense to me, but also puzzles me.

on one hand, it's probably Aronofsky's most "love it" or "hate it" film yet, so Criterion might gets the right to this easier than his other work BECAUSE of that fact. but at the same time because it isn't his most praised (or even best imo) work, i'm kind of surprised Criterion wouldn't go after Pi or Requiem for a Dream. not that Criterion only goes after 'popular' works but i would think they'd want his best work. which a lot do believe it is The Fountain so the debate could be made either way (this, RfaD and The Wrestler are all 5/5's in my book)

but either way, as long as SOMETHING gets released from PTA and / or Aronfosky, i'd be a happy camper

I did get that about Anchorman, and I liked that aspect of it, but I still did not like the movie. Although I am curious about Stranger Than Fiction. Did you see it?

Only film of his I haven't watched. I put it in, but took it out. Wasn't wanting to really watch it, and never came acrossed it since.

Again though, I don't take what anyone says on Facebook to be true, just something to look out on. I think he said Aronofsky said it himself that he and Criterion are working on it. So you could prob find something about it online. I knew people petitioned for it online (I only wish they can do the same for Hopper's The Last Movie), but haven't seen anything like what he is talking about.

Gotcha. I know that it's more serious than his other movies, so I wanted to give it a chance. Although, Land of the Lost was pretty dramatic.

Maybe they took the blu ray sticker off? I did that with my criterions. Sorry I do not have anything useful to add.

I've only ever seen him in Pineapple Express. I'm looking forward to him and James Franco, in, I honestly forget the title of the movie.

i figured as much too. i've seen ones in the wild at best buys and b&n's without the blue sticker so i figure it's not an end all be all determinant.

thanks for the input though!

if anyone else can ease my mind, please, please try. the blu-ray is just staring at me and i don't want to open it just yet so that i have some semblance of a chance to renegotiate the price if it was just resealed.

And his other film, Howl, is only in the independent theater. He is also a huge fan of Criterion, and has been featured on their website with his top 10 picks. Awesome guy, one of my favorite actors (back in the Freaks & Geeks days), and would love to see any film he's in get a Criterion release.
