Default Multi-region BD Player on a budget?

I'm not looking for something really expensive, I just want a multi-region BD player so I can import some wrestling BDs from the UK. I need something basic. Thanks...

I join this thread with a similar question: Does anyone know if a region A (US) player will work straight out of the box in europe? And do one have to get a powerconverter,or does the player have like many laptops:a box which takes several different currents?Live in Norway, and am looking at a panasonic bdp 60 player from US to play region A here.

Thanks in advance

I can confirm that, I have the Insignia. It is also firmware upgradeable as far as I know, which makes it better than my Momitsu

I don't know what the deal is with the online price. At the store, I tried to use one of their 10% off coupons on it, and the cashier wouldn't let me since it was on sale for 89.99 (at the register, it rings up @ $89.99 with an asterix next to it, meaning it is on sale).

Your local store might have it for $89.99; I called the two Best Buy's near me and they both had it for that price.

Weird. Maybe they didn't actually scan it at the register.

Anyone knows if that 9113 code on the remote brings up the region "secret" menu on other Insignia models? Looks like that $89 price was only good for a sale over the weekend. I went to my Best Buy and the NS-WBRDVD2 was back up to $129. The have the model very similar - NS-WBRDVD4 - for $85, and the only difference I can see is that it only has a wired LAN connection, no wireless.

EDIT: Never mind, it looks like the WBRDVD4 does the same thing. A google search found this thread down in the Canadian Deals forum here, and a guy in Canada says his WBRDVD4 also brings up the region code menu with 9113.

I noticed that post as well and have been trying to find out more info on the WBRDVD4 and its region free capabilities.

Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I've read the WBRDVD4-CA (Canada) can be remote hacked, but the WBRDVD4 (US) can't? Can anyone actually confirm this?

I'm also on the lookout for one. I don't want to spend mucho $$$ on an Oppo to play imports from the UK.

I read the same thing on a different site; I just need to find the feedback post related to this.

Now that the Insignia NS-WBRDVD2 is back to its regular price, I may try my luck with either a Samsung or LG player, as the codes are available here.

Just picked the NS-WBRDVD2.
The code worked perfectly. Tried out Mesrine blu and a PAL R2 dvd. Both worked perfectly.
Haven't updated the firmware yet, though.

Insignia is a Best Buy "house brand", so unless anyone knows what OEM made it for them, there's not much that can be done for you.
