I think that the last ten years of baseball should be ignored in upcoming history books.

I definitely think so. It is a start in trying to cure some of the ills steroid use has had on the game...and those who've used them get the scrutiny and astericks the deserve. Along with being passed on for the Hall of Fame.

This report is filled with conjecture and unsubstantiated rumors and George Mitchell was judge, jury and executioner when it came to who was and who was not included. This report cost $60 million dollars to produce and it appears to not have a whole lot of fact based conclusions.

Basically it's as big a joke as MLB and the players union is right now.

Thank goodness for football who bothers to take a stance against drugs and roids.

Every sport has its dirty little secret. Football with abusing painkillers, baseball using steroids, and basketball favoring superstars. It just seamed that baseball never accepted the fact they had a problem and never really tried to resolve it. That is the big difference between the NFL or NBA (which has taken some action) vs MLB

I have a problem with players using steroids, but I also have a problem with this report. If someone published my name on a list without any formal charges or proof being filed, I would be furious. This list is going to tarnish reputations. This is no finding of guilt, only suspicion. If I were innocent, I'd be getting a lawyer today.

I would say that a cancelled check to Radomski is plenty of evidence. What else was this guy providing for $1,200 - $1,300 a pop? Maybe if the player had just written HGH in the memo block...

Didnt Jose Canseco publish this same report 2 years ago?

Nope. Not even close.

To go with a courtroom analogy (which it's not a court of law anyways), George Mitchell is the prosecutor. His job is to gather as many facts as he can and report it in an all-inclusive, unbiased manner. It's then up to MLB to sort out things out. There has been no judge, jury, and executioner so far.

umm, I think this qualifies as a figure of speech and not a literal translastion, but hey, thanks for playing.

Well, we probably should wipe out the fact that baseball had missed it's first post World War - World Series in 1994 because of greed... ohh that's right we can't because it happened.

I say let it stand. Baseball is a business and the players are athletes (with the exception of David Wells). And some athletes cheat and that's the way it is.

And besides, chicks dig the long ball.
