The problem is, that in the case of the players that you've heard some of us talking about, once you shut down the player, you have to reinput the code the very next time you switch the player on. The only way around this, is to keep the player switched on all the time.

The only other options are hardware mods (Oppo, etc.) or purchasing a region B player from the UK. Which I might consider doing in the future.

Good lord you seem to feel very threaten by my comments, I did not mean to insult you.
Lol! You seem adament about continuing a pointless and dead-end argument. I don't mean to take it out of context, but you did say it.

BTW, I've never felt "threatened" by your comments, but as to whether you insulted me at some point in your pointless rant? well, that doesn't really matter now does it?

Thanks, that's good to know. I just got the player on Sat. so I haven't had a whole lot of time to play around with it. So far I would say it's comparable to the Sherwood.

This Amazon sale > BN sale

Sure the chiselers can get things even cheaper with the BN sale but Amazon is better in terms of convenience and shipping speed.

Yea I knew that about their relationship and it was nice to see where it sorta began. But I was just making an assessment about the level's of acting between the foreign (Spanish?) actors and the one American.

Bare in mind, del Toro has said that if he had the chance, he would love to redo the film. But of course, we have seen how his films have changed even with a big budget and I think if he was to redo "Cronos" with big budget special effects, better score and possibly more gore, I just don't think he would do it justice. It was perfect as is, considering the time period the film was released.
I think redoing the film would be unnecessary as it's already a fantastic film. I'd love a new score though, perhaps by the same fellow who scored The Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth, Javier Naverrete?

Night and Fog is a very difficult film to watch. I can't talk about Shoah as I haven't seen it, but Night and Fog is very gut wrenching to say the least. It's one of those films that's very very upsetting, yet very educational in a way. You know, it's sorta one of those everyone should see it once type of thing.

It's similar in this regard to the Momitsu and Sherwood players, but it's so cheap, I bought one just to have a second region free player. For 89 bucks + tax, region coding can be one less worry, and BB seems to have loads of these players in stock.
Is this still on sale? Im bummed out, since I think the sale is over

Walking into the local B&N that is 10 minutes from my house and getting films for $13.77 each might be better than more expensive prices and waiting 2 days.

Regarding Deep Discount....

Is anyone currently waiting for an order to be shipped from them?

I ordered 2 movies in early November, received one of them even before I was charged and before I received the email notifying me of the shipment, and I haven't seen the other one yet...and that is over a month ago.

Then, I pre-ordered Videodrome and Cronos from them during the winter 25% off sale. I received Videodrome fairly quickly, but nothing on Cronos yet.

I have been trying to call them for weeks now and they keep saying that because of the popularity or success of the winter sale, call volume has been very high. (a recording says this while you wait on hold all day)

Today, the phone is just busy...everytime I call.

Yeah, that's why I think the sale on that player ended on Saturday. I picked mine up on Saturday night. Apparently it's $130 when not on sale.

What clue? There hasn't been a monthly newsletter, yet, with a clue... only the 'gift guide' newsletter that went out last week. Criterion mentioned that the monthly newsletter would be going out this week.

Ah! Sorry about that then! Nevermind. Somebody quote my last post then after the newsletter comes out. What, will we be on page 1120 by then?
