Should I be concerned because there's no blue in the clue?

There we go! Now the thread's rollin'!

BTW, has anyone seen Beta around? I'm curious to know what he thinks about the announcements.

No. I'm pretty sure many of the recent clues didn't have the blue color in the them, but we've still received blu-ray editions. It's been quite a while that Criterion has announced a DVD-only release, so I think they're fully committed to the format now.

Hmm... Kawaita Hana?

If so, they could have done a better job on the flower bag sketch.

CC's right. Many of the recent clues don't have blue in them. Of course to be fair, most of the clues from the last six months haven't actually been announced yet, so we can't say for certain if they'll be blu or not. But since the last DVD only title was "L’enfance nue" back in August, we'll probably get less DVD only titles for a while.

I also own and have watched "Sweet Movie" and "WR: Mysteries of the Organism."

The two films I've seen in the Eclipse set, in my opinion, are nothing like "Sweet Movie" or "WR" in style or narrative form. Each of those two Eclipse films were just nicely told, straight-forward films. I actually found that I enjoy "Man Is Not A Bird" and "Love Affair" in the Eclipse set more than "Sweet Movie" or "WR."

"Sweet Movie" would be my pick over "WR," as well. "Sweet Movie" isn't "shocking," obviously, in this day and age. If I recall correctly, I think it has lots of sugar in it and some urinating... nothing any adult shouldn't be able to handle.

CC
Thanks, I was thinking Elcipse might be the best, but will go Sweet Movie first prob with something else for the $50 gift card. thanks.

Sweet Movie is probably more shocking if you're in the mood for that, and the Eclipse Series is one of my favorites released, you honestly can't go wrong.
Thanks. Prob going with Sweet Movie first, unless I read up on WR to make me get that. Eclipse will prob be close 2nd (CC and you said it was great, and I had a feeling about getting that first.) Thanks alot.

I've only seen clips of it, but it is one of my brother's favorite films, and it takes a lot for him to love a movie.
I'll watch it over the holidays to see if I like it.

I've heard of Topsy-Turvy and The Mikado, which are sort of companions to one another, but I think they're poor choices for Criterion as of now. We'll have to see when the reviews come out, but I'm not at all impressed with either. Yi Yi? Sigh.... Do they really think that these films will sell? Apparently they are.

Like CG I like the choice of Malle.
Yi Yi is a great film...made my 25 of the 2000s list.

And to add to your dilemma, the one film CC hasn't seen in the set (Innocence Unprotected) is my favorite in the set!

I think the last time I had that feeling was when The Last Days Of Disco was rumored and then subsequently announced.
