Even though previews had pretty much told the story, I still liked the episode very much.

-_- ..... Tv in general has just about broken me when it comes to sci-fi, my favorite genre. I feel like its not even worth investing myself in a new series when it will never be given the support or chance it deserves.

Do these execs not realize what fandom can mean for the bank, are they really that short sited. I seem to remember a certain show lasting only three seasons and spawning an endless bank for the greedy sobs at paramount.

SG-1 would have most certainly been cancelled in todays tv/scifi environment, along with babylon 5, x-files, among many others. Now we get a season or two of potential and a nice cancellation before a show can reach its peak and solidify itself.

INSERT MORE PISSED RANTING HERE

really though this does bother me, i just hit up the dvr today to watch the mid season finale and thought it was great.

Glad they went ahead and cancelled caprica as well, since i was just about to start getting into that one. Saved me some time. Too many good books out there that actually have endings.

I am so happy right now. This is what they get for getting rid of atlantis !!!
Also maybe we can finally get the sg1 and atlantis movies .
Sgu was a ok show BUT NOT A STARGATE SHOW! I laughed my ass off last year at the sg1/sga convention in Chicago with what joe and others said.
I do feel a little bad for the sgu actors and wish them all the best. And even tho i have a strong distaste for the show i do own it on blu Because i think of it as a crazy scifi show not stargate!

Yeah, whatever dude. It's also been announced the movies are dead too, so go cheer on that for a while.

PS, they let all the actors know through twitter. The same time WE found out. Bunch of shit.

Damn I really liked SGU and enjoyed SG1/SGA too. Sci-Fi management are seriously screwed up in their heads cancelling SGU.

They're not even gonna air what's left of S2?

P.S. itswez what the hell are you cheering for anyway, SG1 and SGA are long gone, and you are happy we got one more good show cancelled?

They are going to finish airing season 2.
Syfy is just the new fox. I dont feel too bad because it was either sga or sgu and they chose sgu so now we have neither shows . It is also why i chose not to watch it on tv but mainly because i hate syfy. Like i said before i do own season 1 of sgu and i view it as a show NOT A PART OF THE STARGATE Franchise and it was an ok show.

Hopefully this will just mean a return to the Stargate that works. SGU was a step in the wrong direction.

If that's true, it's pretty damned ugly.
I don't think this show was put together well at all, but if people work hard for you for 40 hours of TV, you should have the decency to tell them they're done face to face.

I admit that is a low blow and just wrong on many levels. It also shows how pathetic syfy is...

I have been watching every episode but I know my parents gave up on it a long time ago. I didn't think it was going to last that long after the ratings dropped to around 1 million the same thing happened to Caprica.

The same thing started happening to BSG and that show probably cost much more than those two. These shows are just not that fun, nobody gets along with each other in them and the people that watch SyFy do not want to watch that every week. The previous Stargate shows were fun this one wasn't. Warehouse 13 and Eureka are did well this past summer and they are fun.

I thought SGU was vastly better than both SG1 and SGA (let the fanboys flames begin), but whatever SkyFy.

Bunch of **&^&^*

yeah but it's the same recipe with different contexts done over and over (same for Sanctuary). Team of 2 or 3 main chars, whole bunch of one shot episodes balancing comedy and drama with sometime a Mythos episode in between. It's the safe road, X-Files recipe ad-nauseam, and I was glad SGU wasn't going there (only Fringe and Supernatural reused the recipe with flair recently imo).

Gah. Can't somebody do a Serialized (mostly) dark sci fi show that will be a critical and commercial success, or is that too much to ask for ?

Cue in Stargate SG2... <sigh>

I hope this isn't the end of Stargate. I don't care how they continue it (SG1, SGA movies?) I just don't want it to be over.

While I'm a little disappointed that it got cancelled, I won't really miss it. I really wanted to like this show, but just couldn't get into it. I felt the first season was really weak. The end of the first season showed some improvement, but I bailed half-way through this season. I just found that I wasn't really caring about any of the characters. Most of them just seemed too one-note to me.

I like Eureka, and I think Warehouse 13 is decent enough sci-fi to watch if it's on. Overall, Syfy needs a lot of better programming if I'm even going to care about it once Eureka ends.

I can respect those that just didn't like the show, if it wasn't for you ok, but i will never understand the fanboy attitude of taking joy in cancellation, or the spite they can have for a deviation from the same old that we have had as "fun" sci-fi as someone stated earlier, for the past 15 seasons of stargate. There really was a lot of hate for this show long before the first episode even aired.

I am pumped for the return of SG:U tomorrow, and quite sad at the same time that it's for the last 10 episodes.

I really hope that at least SkyFy will have the decency to produce a for TV movie (like Razor) to wrap everything up.

I can always dream eh?

Thanks for the heads up, been so long i would have totally missed it.

Saw something about a possibility of another sg series, maybe back to its roots kind of a thing, but more then likely thats just an internet rumor until sci-fi (sif-ee) realizes their current line up stinks without this franchise in some form.

News is that they want to make 1 or 2 movies to close out SG:U and give it a proper finale.
