And basically trying to walk a thin line between "TL51!!!!" and "it ain't here, or happening"

HD DVD is now all: Wait for it.

I have no problem if the zealots who refuse to buy into BD are forever waiting for what they need from HD DVD. It means a complete halt to HD DVD sales.

One HD DVD fan had a great point:

Look at it from the HD DVD owner point of view. How does a bunch of new players, and new functionality in the future help "us"? "We" need titles?

HD DVD will be 320GB on 14 layers and cost $99 by next month.

Let them keep it up. Encourage this nonsense. Who buys into that kind of uncertainty?

us when it came to DL BR discs

granted, there also was a major difference in that one was spec'd and had been demonstrated to really exist.

our only issue was yields at the time

Yep:

BD: We have lots of great content. Lots more coming. The players are reasonably priced. And it isn't all about potential and the future.

HD DVD: Just wait until the new players and the 50GB discs show up later this year!!!

That new HD movie: Invasion of the Body Switchers.
