Let's call a spade a spade here, shall we?:

I was going to post about this article before this happened, but got busy with work so now it's time for damage control.

First off, why didn't the OP give a link to the complete article: http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/ques...1607/index.php

Now, for those of you who don't want to click the link and just want the meat of it all:

The research is based on two different surveys done by the Dallas-based research firm The Diffusion Group (TDG), and consisted of, are you ready for this? 1,500, and 2,000 U.S. adult internet users. Furthermore, the research was done in October and November.

For those of you who haven't been paying attention, this is well before the PS3 price-drop, and subsequent price-drop of many stand-alone players. In addition to that, the response from the BDA was basically that without studio support and inexpensive media, inexpensive hardware is pretty much worthless. And yes, I'm para-phrasing. But again, click the link above and read the entire article for yourself.

Finally, the founding partner of TDG stated that the fact that 30% of respondents were undecided represented a swing vote in the format war. Take that how you will, but I took it to mean that basically, unless this war ends, no one is going to win and both sides will lose.

So what's up with the OP? A misleading thread title, and pro HD DVD exerpts from the article with no Blu response? {sniff-sniff} Does anyone else smell it?
