Just got home from seeing it and I loved it. 5 stars.

While this is a Disney movie and I'm sure some effort was put into it to appeal to a broader audience, unless you're into the underground scene of electronic music, computers, and video games, you won't fully understand or enjoy the concepts the movie tries to explain. Some people I think just don't get it.

But I must give a thumbs up to Daft Punk and the amazing score they put together. The movie wouldn't be half of what it is without it.

BTW, was anyone else reminded of the Renaissance room scene in 2001: A Space Odyssey during the first meeting between Sam and the real Kevin?

See it in IMAX 3D. Seriously, if it's within a reasonable drive radius, it's absolutley worth it.

Based on what? There's a huge difference between dance music, and a film score.

Daft Punk, Deadmau5 and Tiesto (minus his vocal stuff) could all be used in films as musical scores.. theres no difference from any of these only, the only being Daft Punk was cool in the 1990s and early 2000s

That's just it - I don't care what anyone else thinks. It's probably an age thing. Those of us who saw it when we were kids are thrilled with the update - those who are younger and seeing it as another Matrix type film are the one's disappointed.

Okay. It was nowhere as good as Avatar's. I think this film may play even better in 2D since the depth wasn't that noticeable, but the image was dimmed by the glasses.

Hey, I saw the original two weeks ago and I think both films are very good.

Also, what us this "general public says it sucks" stuff coming from. Just about everyone in here liked it. Critics aren't the general public.

were probably the same age.. and im the last person to jump on the band wagon for what people like. I.E. The Hangover, Social Network.. i disliked both of them.. Tron just wasnt that great of a movie, it was an average movie with a cool light show

Saw 'TRON: Legacy' @ IMAX 3D today...

Place me in the camp of those who grew up with the first TRON and highly anticipated the sequel based on that experience. I LOVED this new film, 'TRON: Legacy', and felt it was pretty much everything I had hoped for in a continuation of the first one. The tone, mood, pacing, look...everything felt like the first movie to me, just updated to today. Yeah, ok...the CG of FLYNN/CLU wasn't all that and a bag of chips, but we're talking about trying to fool the human mind by recreating people digitally...far from an easy task. I honestly don't get where all the H8 on this movie is coming from...those people probably don't get the first film either. It's fine if it's not your "cup of tea", just don't bemoan TRON for being TRON.

I will see it again in the theaters at least once (probably DBOX next time!), and def purchase on BD3D. I would have voted 4 1/2 stars out of 5, so I rounded up to 5.

coming from a guy probably in his 30's (assuming that age because you said you grew up with the first one) with an avatar of a 14 year old girl is very interesting..

Not very good. At the beginning of the movie, Disney added a title card basically stating that the audience should expect only certain parts of the movie to be in 3D -- but to keep your glasses on anyway. That was a pretty bad sign.

On the other hand, they ran a preview for a movie called MARS NEEDS MOMS in which the 3D effect was quite impressive.

The only thing I'd assume from a guy that liked Tron and Chloe is that he's intelligent and probably a bro.
