I should note, I liked several movies from this year like inception but haven’t watched them enough to figure out where they would fall in this list.

I may have to make it an annual thing around x-mas each year.
i'm a big fan of lists, but i think what i'm going to feel more comfortable with is just "general lists" and not putting a number on every title. some? sure. but not all because i'm just gonna end up wasting too much time on "should this be #165? or #167? and trying to figure it out when it really doesn't matter. top 10 i could maybe do, but what i've created now is a 7-tier system:

love it : really like it: like it: "meh" : didn't care for it : disliked it: hated it

and then just putting each film in each category.
maybe some day i'll go through and try to put each film from each tier, but i really like this set up i have now

like, just recently i saw Inception and The Hurt Locker. two very different films, but i "really like" both. but which one do i like more? i honestly have no idea. these are two films that one day i may be more in the mood to watch Inception, the next, The Hurt Locker. so putting a number on them would be meaningless for me, because it could change in a heart beat. however, then when mixed with a film like The Town, which i love, i know i like The Town more than those two. so it gets put in a different tier entirely, and i know i would enjoy watching The Town more often than Inception and The Hurt Locker.

may sound crazy or confusing, but it's the best idea / system i've come up with

i'll ask a question that Czar always asked but you never answered: do you actually watch these films on the days you review them, or are you just randomly generating reviews from films you watched months ago and posting now?

I don't answer CZAR because I don't like him, you're getting close to that too but yes I watched Coach Carter a little while ago, guess I was in the mood since I saw Glory Road yesterday. Watching the movie I reviewed above "Click" since it just came in the mail and I like to watch the movies I get right when I get them.

Battle Royale II: The Revenge” Director’s Cut

Continuing after the first film, this one has more of the same. More gruesome deaths, more drama, more fighting…

This sequel shares much in common with the first, going through the same motions in the first act before descending into a series of harrowing battle sequences. From then on, it looses a lot of momentum, with sporadic bursts of action. And for a two-and-a-half hour movie, it can get a little tiring.

Interestingly, this sequel is a game-changer for the story. It takes the premise of the first film and flips it around cleverly. However, the first film remains the strongest. It seems to me that all the conflict and tension has been stripped away. The focus is way less on school teen drama, and the film is a lot more militaristic. I think it makes the film weaker in the end; I find myself a lot less attached to the story and characters. In respect to the story and action though, the film has its moments.

The film has mostly-good photography. It gets pretty jumpy and shaky at times (heck, the beachhead approach scene reminded me a lot of “Saving Private Ryan”). Some of the editing techniques are a little annoying. But otherwise, it’s pretty solid. Acting is not quite as lively as it was in the first film; this sequel is a lot more somber, for better or for worse. Beat Takeshi makes a brief appearance; Riki Takeuchi steps in and provides a great crazy mean villain. Certain other actors from the first film also make a good reappearance. Production value is decent, and the music is about as good as it was in the first film.

3.5/5 (entertainment: 3.5/5, story: 3.5/5, film: 3.5/5)

Now, in the words of the sensei…

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!”

even though around 4-5 (at least) of your choices wouldn't even be in my personal top 200, it's always fun to see lists and see what other people enjoy and can't say i've ever seen a list contain Tombstone, Super Troopers and Star Wars all in a list this close to each other!
You know you love Transformers

I believe by cephalopod(sp?) he means Squid Puppet. LOL CZAR and I both know it's just the Internet, it really doesn't matter if everyone likes you or not. LOL never understood why the O'Doyle kid in Click is such a jerk or why Michael is such a whiner before the remote changes his life but maybe that's why he needed one.
1. Return of the King
2. Empire Strikes Back
3. The Two Towers
4. Return of the Jedi
5. Fellowship of the Ring
6. A New Hope
7. Inception

9. Revenge of the Sith

Dang, it looks like the sonic weapon from "The Incredible Hulk!" Or possibly a weapon from a "Command and Conquer" video game.
