PS3 as Karaoke machine

I was in a party the other day where my friend hooked his wii to the internet, plugged in a mic, searched youtube for karaoke ready songs, and used his wii as a Karaoke machien.

I recently bought a PS3 and I was wondering if I could do that with the PS3, and if I can what do I need to do (settings wise) or get?

You could probably do the exact same thing you described. I assume the mic was plugged into his receiver.

Plus, Singstar is available as well, which is a karaoke type game with 2 microphones and downloadable songs.
