I think you'll be fine with the mits. Had the 73"(projector and DLP(not 3-D) and sat about 7-8 ft away and had a great picture. I heard great reviews about their new 3-D DLP/or Laser, but you have to buy the Mit's adapter I believe for the 3-D viewing for the glasses and the bulb thing(is why I got rid of mine) you can buy them and let them sit in the closet as back up..That's what I did, but never had to use it, because I ended up selling it before anything happened.
