Besides, it's not like they said they don't remember him...they just don't include him when they tell their 'how they fell in love' story, which makes sense. They both left a few things out of that story the first time around. ![]() |

Hey guys!
![]() Well its been a long wait, but I got my Back to the Future - Collectors Edition/Tin Boxset today for Christmas, and I'm blown away! But first of all... What the hell is everyone complaining about regarding DNR/EE??? From what I've seen of my copies of the film, they probably have too much film grain! They look gorgeous and completely natural - the transfer is exactly the same as Universals release of Psycho earlier this year. The way some people were talking about these films, I was expecting some kind of shoddy 'plastic' looking release, but this is the opposite - a little bit of film-judder is intact, and all the original grain is there. Seriously, this looks incredible. Even compared to the screenshots that I've seen on this forum, my copy looks completely different. What the hells going on? What I'm more confused about is how different it looks to the Theatrical re-release in October this year. I went to see it at my local ODEON, and it was there that I began to agree with the so-called critics - the film did look too clean and almost plastic like. There was no grain at all. If I had to make a stance, I would definitely say that this Blu-Ray product is a different transfer to what I saw in the cinema, no question. I'm just starting to wonder, is their any possibility that the Standard Edition Blu-Ray release and the Collectors Edition releases had different transfers? In other words, the Standard Edition could have had all the DNR/EE to satisfy the general market, while those care more about the film (and inevitably buy the Collectors Edition) will have the original grain/look? This seems like a good possibility to me, because the differences in the screenshots/videos I've seen are far too obvious. My copy of the films look nothing like the original screenshots posted. The product itself is great though - love the license plate ![]() |

Well, I'm offering this simple phrase... to kids from 1 to 92. All though it's been said many times many ways: Merry Christmas to you - Meaning, if you're 93, I don't really want ya to have a Merry Christmas. Ninety and under is who I am wishing have a Merry Christmas. See ya in hell |

Wow.. that packaging is special.... If I knew I would have to do an Origami to get a disc out .... Yeah, I still would've bought it =P... At least Universal f'd up the packaging this time instead of the discs themselves (ie: the DVDs).

I did the exact same thing. I don't use digital copies, so it's nice to have a 6-disc package to put all my discs in. I also didn't find it that hard to get the discs in and out. All you have to do is put your finger in the hole and push down (not forward). My only complaint is that I would have put all the bonus features on one disc. So when you decide to watch them, you wouldn't have to keep changing discs. No big deal, though.

I watched the first and third movies of the box set and I gotta say I am very impressed. The restoration of the first movie is excellent and the audio quality is equally as good. The reviewers were right, I did notice an uptick in video quality from the first movie, compared to the second and third. Back to the Future 3 looks incredibly sharp. You can actually tell that the backgrounds are fake movie sets in some of the scenes. The lossless DTS HD track is superb.

I got the set last week durning Amazon's sale. I have my 2009 DVD Casing (sold the dvd) with the cover to replace the crappy casing that came with the blu-rays. Gonna sell the Digital Copies, dont really care for those.
On top of the sale and the sell of the dvds, i only bought it for 30 bucks. Reasonable, very reasonable and worth it. I watch them all last week and impressed with not only the picture on my 42in tv, but the sound was great. |

I seen a lot complain of the case (origin one), some even take out the disc and put in separate own make case.
Is this that hard to use? For me it just the method of taken it, it is not that hard actually but rather easier to take out the disc once you know the correct way. ----------------------------------- Now, talk about the PQ & SQ. PQ - It is the clearness copy I ever see, but it not yet in perfection. I still can see slightly dusty in overall where under acceptable level. In my view, it ain't over DNR, but seems slightly over sharpening/edge enhancement where it make overall a bit digitalizes. Color wise it vivid and nice. 3.5 star SQ - Very impressive with it sound quality. Perfection. 5 star Last edited by Andrewtst; 12-26-2010 at 02:24 PM. |
