Watched the 2D version last night and was blown away by the PQ/AQ; certainly demo quality. This movie is a lot of fun and I really enjoy this series (I am an even bigger fan of the games on which these are loosely based). I had seen the film twice before in theaters on 3D and seeing it in 2D didn't detract from my enjoyment.

I hope we see a lot of Jill in Part 5 (maybe even Leon, Rebecca or Barry).

Would suggest its another Samsung player issue. Not the first title that a Samsung player has had issues with. Firmware update will prob fix it.

Well everyone has their opinion. I personally liked the 3rd one more than the first 2. The 4th in 3D is now my new favorite. To all the people complaining about slow motion shots. I think they were well done. As a matter of fact I did not even think about it being in slow motion while watching the movie ......until I came here and saw the complainers.

Movie experience is definitely different between 2D and 3D. For example, the slow motion shot in "Legend of the Guardian", I thought it was lame on 2D. But in 3D, I was WOW and completely in love. For 3D, slow-motion does enhance and provide a better 3D experience for me. In particular when an object is heading toward me. As if not for the slow-mo, the object will head toward me too fast that I can's feel the impact of it coming at me. For sure, 3D does require different technique and vision to film it properly. Hence, that's why 2D to 3D conversion fail epically.

As for "RE: Afterlife 3D", I have only seen the first 30mins of the beginning. I love the 3D quality of this movie so far. It definitely make for 3D. I have seen the 2D, and was too flat and ruin the special effect of this movie. Anyhow, I'll finish the rest tonight. I can't wait! =)

I really wish the movies had followed the storyline from the games, somewhat. The second movie being the best as far as comparing it to the games goes. I know this franchise has been successful, but man, they are nothing like the games. I love when they almost totally eliminate the main characters from the game and make them side characters and create a totally new character that never even appeared in the games. I'll have to pass on this one. The second movie will be the only one in my collection.

I actually find the 2nd one to be the worst of them all. I love the games but I can understand the reasoning behind Alice being the main character. Paul Ws Anderson wanted to create a whole new universe where people that played the games would not know what will happen next. He just did not want the whole thing predetermined.

I just finished watching the movie for the first time, and I must say I was blown away by the picture and sound quality of this Blu-ray! As others have said, it is reference quality, no doubt about it...

I forgot to mention that girl who plays Crystal (Kasey Barnfield) is sexy as hell. What a body on that girl!!

Especially the early games. I can't stand those first few games. Bad controls, graphics, etc. The storyline was okay I suppose and the design was good, but the gameplay was terrible. The series didn't get good until RE4 - which remains one of my all-time favorites. The movies kept the good parts of the game - the design, concept, and atmosphere and got rid of the crap. Afterlife is probably the one that's the most true to the games, especially the last one.

I agree that Afterlife is pretty true to the later games with tons of winks and nods. It does not need to follow the story of the games to be based on them.

I really hate when people say "I wish it followed the game". What would be the point in seeing the movie if you already know what's going to happen scene by scene? It would be completely boring!

I feel the same about people who, in 2010, say "Well, it wasn't really true to the book."

They've got 90 minutes to make it entertaining.

Yeah i always laugh at that. People complain when a 600 page book is better then a 2 hour movie becuase it covers more. Well no duh it covers more it's a 600 page book. The movie just trys to get the main point across the best it can. It should be know 99% of the books will be better then the movie just deal with it people.

This is true for every Michael Crichton book that has been made into a movie. Sphere, Jurassic Park, The 13th Warrior (Eaters of the Dead), The Andromeda Strain, Timeline, etc. A 300-400 page book will almost always be better than the movie.

The series didn't get good until RE4? Okay...

The graphics and gameplay for the early games were great for their time.

I'm glad the movies don't follow the games. Like a few others have said...it would ruin the suspense and make the movies boring..

I've gotta say, the black levels are REALLY inconsistent on this disc. It wasn't an issue when seeing this in IMAX 3D, since the 3D glasses darkened the image so badly anyway. This constantly distracting issue and several other soft digital effects shots (esp. the 1st shot of the 3 Alice clones when she says "Is that any way to treat a lady?", that shot looked horrible) hold this disc back from being anywhere near reference quality for video.

The audio on the other hand is definitely reference quality from beginning to end. This rivals Inception & Saving Private Ryan for best Blu-Ray audio of the year.

Yeah, I started playing RE1 on the Wii earlier in the year. My god what a chore. The entire game was spent avoiding zombies as you couldn't actually kill them and running around shuffling a pitiful inventory to complete stupid stupid puzzles. My god, the inventory system was just rubbish. And the story, well, not as bad as the Metal Gear Snake series.

I'm more of the mindset "I've got a minigun/chainsaw/rocket launcher/foot. I don't need to find a freaking key"...

RE2 as well - I was expert at that game, but it was a different era. Much better than 1 but gee, I HATED how even in replay with great weapons, you know what? You still had to run past all the cool Romero zombies at the start, and only got the cool weapons once you go to the building, and then not a proper freaking zombie to be seen.

Give me Silent Hill any day. Mate, you could always play with a "leave no monster alive" mindset even if you just had a stick.
