Join the club. In fact, I loathe him. Still, unless you're the type to completely shun a major motion picture because of a disliking of one actor, I recommend setting that aside. I have a friend who hates Leo DiCaprio, and he's missed out on some excellent movies because of it, or at least not allowed himself to enjoy some movies because of it. I'm nearly that way with Adam Sandler, but I still enjoyed Punch Drunk Love.

If I were you, I'd give yourself a chance to see that Ryan Reynolds does have some talent buried in all that douchiness. (don't know if that's really a word )

Yeah, this isn't a movie I see myself watching too many times. The claustrophobia I felt watching it the first time nearly did me in.

I really would consider it as it truely is an excellent film. Just don't expect it to be one you find youself putting on very often.

I just read that there won't be a regular DVD release for this, only the BD that comes with a DVD. Is this a first?

Really? Sounds AWESOME! I think its a first as far as "bigger" releases are concerned.

On a side note, wish they would have stuck with this poster art for the box art.

If it is a word he made it one. I won't completely shun an actor, I despise Will Ferrell, but I am going to see Stranger Than Fiction eventually, but I don't know if I would like this movie anyway so that certainly helps to make up my mind. I may netflix it, or I can always watch it on Charter when it's "free."

My two cents for anyone still on the fence regarding this movie...I'll try to do it without spoilers. And, of course, this is just one man's opinion.

Do yourself a favor and don't blind buy this. Thank God I didn't. Even if you think it's good, which I didn't, it's a one and done movie. It's not a purchase. It can't imagine when I'd ever be in the mood to watch this again, especially considering I now know how it ends.

For what it's worth, I actually do like Ryan Reynolds, and I think he can act...I thought he was great in Amityville. And I hated him in this. I didn't believe him from the first moments of the movie. I didn't care about his struggle, I didn't connect with him. Again, just my feelings.

If you're at all someone who thinks even the slightest bit about the plausibility of a movie, this one will just drive you mad. I said I wouldn't post spoilers, so if you're interested in two glaring plot holes, please feel free to PM me. I know people say just go with it, suspension of disbelief, etc..., but with this type of movie, where they're expecting you to think a little...that's what you do, and you just end up rolling your eyes.

All that said...this movie is worth one watch. The situation itself draws a lot of curiosity, and I was interested enough to finish watching, but now that I've seen it, I can't think of a single reason why I'd ever want to watch it again.

Take my advice on this one...redbox is your friend.

Between this and "The Social Network" were my favorite films this year! I have a friend that won't see either films, because he hates Ryan Reynolds and Jesse Eisenberg. It's really sad. Loved both films so frickin' much. I for one can't wait to rewatch this one. So beautifully crafted and well told and acted. The composer is fantastic too.

Where'd you hear that? Oh, looks like I found something here: http://www.imdb.com/news/ni5836474/

Shame it would happen with a limited release independent feature first. I would've liked to see a major Disney film get the first treatment. Maybe something like Tron Legacy?

Oh well. Looks like this isn't even making news. I don't see any rabble-rousing by the FUD-spreaders complaining that there isn't a traditional DVD release.

As for the movie itself, I'm looking forward to seeing it. Wish I could have seen it in the theater, but I don't know if my local theaters ever had it. I guess I wasn't paying attention though, and it's really easy to miss a great film when it doesn't get advertised at all.

I'd say this is pretty much a "Frozen" deal.. The reviewer will probably rate this high as it is an excellent film, but replay value is limited... Same deal as with "Frozen" some people will love the blind buy and some people will loathe it.. But if you wanted to see it in theaters, this BD is not any more expensive than a trip to the theater, and at least you can sell this one again..

Definitely not. I hated it because of the predictable ending. Every damn movie now
[Show spoiler]in this genre has downer endings. I am fed up with this trend

I did enjoy this movie and the claustrophobia is done very well. However, like others have said, it doesn't have much replay value. I may rent this just to see how I think of it seeing it a second time and that will be my deciding factor.
