Yea, I recv'd that delay email also, my copy should be here around Jan 19 or 20. No problem, as I have PLENTY of movies to occupy my time (damn you Black Friday deals! )

I grabbed Once Upon A Time in Mexico today. Had a hard time finding Desperado yesterday, but found it at another BB. Glad to finally own these three films, even though the third one is not as good as the first two.

I went yesterday to get these movies...Once Upon a Time was on the shelf, not Desperado...so I asked a Customer service girl to check it in their system and she pulled up the title and said they didn't have it, showed me the screen, and I said yes this is it here, said "Ohh" then verified it said in stock, went and got the proper person to check the back storage and brought out a copy for me. I don't know why they didn't display it but I got it regardless that way, so don't be afraid to ask CS to check.

Don't know where you've heard that the transfer is disappointing but that's nonsense. Desperado looks damn good on Blu. Plus, it's already cheap.

Yep... not true. Read one guy who said mariachi was horribly compressed. Watched both today, both came across very well on bluray. Not sure where this compressed remark came from.

You're absolutely right, I spoke too soon. It's just that I'd read a couple reviews and they all said the transfer was less than spectacular. After watching it for myself however, I agree that this is a huge step up from the dvd and a great transfer in my opinion. I got it for $14 as well so I'm a happy mariachi!

F'ing Amazon. I really wanted to watch these tomorrow, but I don't want to go through the hassle of buying them from Best Buy and returning them later . . . decisions, decisions.

I'm with you, dude. Its the 5th and Amazon still haven't shipped my order yet. If I hadn't bought it for $12.99 plus shipping during that sale, I probably would cancel it 'bout now.

I think people just see two films on one disc and just get butt hurt and make assumptions.

Broke down and bought both at Best Buy tonight and will return my Amazon copies there when I get them. I DID get a shipping notice for OUATIM for the 11th, with El/Desperado following the next week. Normally I'd just wait, but I'm starting a new job next week and had today and the rest of the week off, and I had really planned on kicking back tomorrow morning/afternoon and watching all three of these. I just started Amazon Prime and so far this is the only hiccup . . . I really love it so far, but hopefully this isn't a common occurrence.

I pre ordered El/Desparado on 12/16/10. E-mailed delivery 1/19-1/20/11 from Amazon on 1/4/11. Just checked Amazon and says it's in stock. Anyone else know why the long delay for a pre-order when Amazon has it in stock now? I called Amazon CS and now it will ship 1/6/11 and delivery on 1/7/11. Give Amazon CS a call and complain. They should change your delivery date and they offered free delivery charge for one day delivery. Pays to use the phone.

Both OUATIM and E/D went into processing in the last hour. I called them to see what was up and they said both should ship on the last truck tonight (11pm PST) and arrive in the next couple days Really weird situation on these.

They've had stock problems with quite a few movies, so really no need to complain. Plus quite a few stores aren't even carrying the movie

Anybody had any issues with El/Desperado? I'm watching El Mariachi and had to pause it a couple times and every time I do the left channel drops out completely for a couple of minutes, then just pops back on. Doesn't happen in any particular scene, I can reproduce it anywhere. Same thing happens with rewinding/fast forwarding.

I was a victim of Amazon delay and I canceled because it said my Best Buy had them. I went into the store and they had three copies of El Mariachi/Desperado so I grabbed one quickly. Couldn't find Once Upon A Time, asked a guy, computer said they had 3, couldn't find it....a girl was there from a third party doing blu ray inventory, she said they are missing. I scanned all the blu rays quickly, couldn't find it. Only to come home and they're not in stock and shipping on Amazon. Of course, at Best Buy, they were 16.99

For some reason they used different shipping methods for OUATIM and E/D, at least for me. OUATIM is being sent FedEx (Amazon says a delivery date of tomorrow, FedEx says the 10th) and E/D shows tomorrow via UPS, which UPS' site also shows.
