Best prequel - Revenge of the Sith. By a long way. For me...

I think each prequel got better than the one before, but then I haven't seen TPM since I was a kid, so can't remember it that well. I remember playing the PlayStation game for it a lot though, that is permanently ingrained in my mind! I never had much of a problem with Jar Jar really, I don't know if watching it as an adult after not seeing it since I was a kid I will see what all the fuss is about, or he still won't bother me that much.

But even though ROTS was the most action packed, it did have some of the worst dialogue and most cringeworthy moments of the franchise (the Vader 'nooo', and 'your breaking my heart'/any 'love' scene with Padme and Anakin spring to mind. Palpatine had some quite cheesy lines as well but his McDiarmid's performance was so good that I didn't really notice)

I once wrote a fairly lengthy rambling piece/review on ROTS, and the prequels. Too big to copy & paste, so here is a link, these are my thoughts (if anyone is interested):

I took the time to read your article, you made some great points. The thing I dislike the most about the prequels is how stupid Anakin is and how his change to 'the dark side' is more of a temper tantrum than a proper character arc. If he just took the time to think he would have asked himself some pertinent questions.

I'm looking forward to the blu-rays a great deal now.

Thanks for reading that old stuff.

Yep, I am also looking forward to this release. Even the rather disappointing episodes I & II have some fantastic SW moments, it's certainly not ALL bad. eg, the final Darth Maul fight and the Obi-Wan vs Jango Fett confrontations are excellent. And there are other notable moments...

Edit: "The thing I dislike the most about the prequels is how stupid Anakin is and how his change to 'the dark side' is more of a temper tantrum than a proper character arc." I agree 100%. And I'm sure most other adult fans feel the same way...

The Darth Maul fight was epic, I absolutly loved the music to it too.

Agreed.

Darth Tyranus was the worst entry to the series, Maul should of been in al three.

Grievous was also pretty pointless.

Grievous was a fantastic character in the Clone Wars series full of menace and a proper killer, not a coward as portrayed in future incarnations and by Mace Windu in EPIII. I never understood the Darth Tyranus, Count Dooku (did I spell that right?) monikers. Lucasfilm have said that Anakin's 'journey' to the dark side will be fleshed out in The Clone Wars but it really should have been in the films in the first place.

Looking forward to the boxset in everyway apart from what I imagine is going to be a hefty pricetag.

According to The Digital Bits, Fox/ Lucasfilm should be officially announcing some more Blu-Ray details sometime today at CES 2011. Rumoured street dates at the moment are 18th Oct or 25th Oct.

Fantastic news Chris, I like a lot of other fans were hoping they'd be seperated due to the high cost of the six films together. But would love the full set for a lengthy marathon. In the words of Anakin "Yippee!" (I probably won't live that quote down).

The Complete Saga has 3 extra discs, for special features I presume?

Over 30 hours of it, in fact.

And Blu-ray.com is listing the release date as September 17th.

Thank god I won't have to be forced to purchase those god awful prequels and have been given the choice, I was worried that Lucas would say all or nothing but thankfully he understands some people just don't want his 3 over long toy commercials.

I fear that I will have to purchase KOTCS whenever The Indy Blu ray boxset surfaces though, now that does really grate!
