Amazon are also now stating it has a release date of 26th Spetember, so it looks like that's the final date.

I'm a little dissapointed it's not the 19th, as was originally rumoured, but hey, it's still early.

I believe that it's £69.99 at Play, Amazon and HMV. That's for all 6 films plus an extra 3 discs worth of additional stuff.

from Play:

Quote:
All six movies of the Star Wars saga (Episodes I-VI) are together for the first time in one collectible set
Each film presented on one Blu-ray disc to ensure maximum picture and sound quality
Three bonus discs of extras, with more than 30 hours of in-depth bonus features including never-before-seen deleted and alternate scenes, an exploration of the exclusive Star Wars archives, and much more.

Sweet.

I was only going to get the Original 3 movies as i expected a £100+ price point but at this price i will take the whole 6

Are they going to separate the 6 movies over here like they are in the USA ?

There are also two trilogy sets, one for the orignal trilogy and another for the prequel trilogy, but the don't have the 3 bonus discs or extras.

Both are priced at about £34, so you'd be better off with the complete saga as you get more, even if it is more than double the price.

I pre-ordered the Complete set last night. Now for the long, long wait until the end of September...
I'm also rather ashamed to admit that this will actually be the first time I've actually owned the movies (in a non-hard drive format)

I think I've still got the originals knocking about on VHS somewhere, but got shot of all the DVD versions last year when Lucas announced that they'd be coming to Blu.

I don't think the screenrant.com covers are what we'll be getting they were mock-ups from when the blu-rays were first announced. I'd be surprised if they had individual cases but a lot of BD set do.

The US set is roughly £90 so we must be getting a discount on our pre-orders. No news is good news on the theatrical cuts it would be the proverbial middle finger to fans if they weren't included in some way.

Man I'm excited. It will be a day long remembered when I get my eager paws on the set.

Is it sacrilege to ask if they're releasing new DVD's?

It doesn't seem they'll be new DVDs, because there aren't any up for pre-order and I don't think Fox would want to release DVDs, because they didn't with the Alien Anthology, so it seems they're really wnating consumers to go with Blu-ray. Added to that the whole point of this release is it's Blu-ray.

9 Months. We have to wait over 9 months.

I'd rather they left telling us until a bit later in the year. Waiting 9 months for a release is ridiculous. If they had waited til Late April/May I could have handeled a 4 month wait, but announcing so early in the year is a little depressing knowing that I have to look forward to September for so long. Grrrrr!

Do you reckon we might get a cinema release similar to what we got for the Back to the Future Blu-Ray release?

Default 19th or 26th

Blu-Ray.com has it down for September 19th Release. But all the sites have it down for September 26th. Which is real?

since they're re-releasing the whole saga in 3D (starting with Episode 1) I'd say not... I can't imagine them re-releasing them in their digital HD 2D format in the cinema in 2011 only to start showing them in the cinema again only a year later in 3D. But then, we all know how much George loves to pimp the franchise, so you never know...

I was just wondering because the DVD's seem to be pretty bad on the colour timing front (who knew everything in ANH should be purple?), but, as you mentioned the HD releases far outweigh the DVD releases or re-releases in significance..

Gonna stick with the Amazon pre-order methinks, have better luck getting boxsets from them that aren't all bashed up like ones from HMV and especially Play.

On another note always liked how Star Wars is really easy to type out on a keyboard, pointless but still
