Should be a pretty good game. My gut says A&M will win, but I think LSU is the safer pick.
I had no idea there was a bowl game tonight. After January 1 I only care about the BCS games. If I watch a football game tonight it will be Eastern Washington-Delaware in the FCS Championship game. In FCS they have this crazy concept called a playoff where teams have to earn the title by playing other teams, not just by beating one team that computers declare a top 2 team.

Might not be a BCS game, but #11 LSU (10-2) vs #18 A&M (9-3) in the Cotton Bowl is a pretty good matchup of two good teams.

The D1AA Final should be good, but I'll watch the Cotton Bowl instead.

Texas Tech is being accused of major recruiting violations from 2007-2009 in football, golf, and softball. The football staff reportedly sent impermissible text messages to recruits. The violations occurred when Mike Leach was coach, which could make it nearly impossible to get another head coaching job when you add in the other factors in his departure from Tech. Texas Tech could lose scholarships, face recruiting restrictions, or have a 2-year postseason ban.

Yikes lol Still I'd take him as our HC since I believe he can't be touched.

I had a feeling something was up when Tech suddenly went from barely mediocre to very good almost immediately, wonder how much trouble they're about to get in.

I wonder who Stanford will find to replace Harbaugh? It's going to have to be someone who runs a pro style offense.

lol come on text messages if thats all it takes to sway someone thing what has the world come too... Had it been promises of favors on school stuff, money, exc. then I'd be mad but bothering some kid on texts lol that would only piss me off as an athlete if I was getting texted a ton of times by the same person all day about what my decision might be.

Stanford associate head coach Greg Roman was rumored as a candidate for several jobs in recent weeks so I would guess he'd be a candidate. With Andrew Luck returning it's a pretty attractive job so there may be some fairly big names interested, but the lack of fan support could turn off some candidates.

Can Luck still opt out for the draft or has that day come and gone?

I wouldn't want to go back now with a new head coach.

No, I believe there's still a month or so to decide. He can always change his mind but I seriously doubt it will happen. Luck just seems intent on another year of college. He isn't going pro.

Players have until January 15 to declare for the draft. Luck knew Harbaugh was likely leaving when he declared he was staying yesterday so I don't think it matters who the new coach is. If Luck wasn't 100% certain he was staying he would have waited to announce his decision until the situation with Harbaugh was finalized.

I'm pretty sure the Carolina Panthers having the top draft pick has a lot to do with that. The Panthers are a couple years away from even contending for a wild card.

I agree that the Panthers having the pick plays a big role, but I think the threat of a lockout played just as big a role. I didn't think a lockout was a realistic possibility but I'm not sure anymore. It also helps that Luck comes from a wealthy family so he doesn't have the family support obligations that cause many players to leave early.

Oh I agree completely. If say Arizona, Buffalo, Cincinnati or Cleveland had the #1 pick I think he very well may have made the jump. But Carolina just holds no promise compared to most other teams with early picks.

You really think they would lock out the NFL? I think it might go down to the final hour, but I would like to think both sides have too much to lose to allow themselves to not play games.

+1

This is all just posturing by both sides of the labor dispute. There is no doubt in my mind they'll get a deal done.
