You know what, now that I think about it, BOTH Cobb and Ariadne
[Show spoiler]started their Limbo journey in the water too,
so I am going to have to re-watch this and think about it.

What I meant is that Cobb was already in Limbo with Ariadne when getting Fischer, but because he "drowned" in a higher level, and he was still heavily sedated, he dropped down again a second time into Limbo, and that's why he found himself on the beach again. But he seems to be disoriented every time he drops into Limbo, even if he was already there.

I got Inception for Christmas and hope to watch it this weekend. My wife is kinda dragging her feet because she didn't like it that much when we saw it in the theater. But that's not all her fault...there was an incident in the theater the night we went. Some crazy person kept switching seats and cackling and stuff. It's a long story...too long to share here...maybe...

Anyway, we left before the end of the film (made it to the snowy part before giving up). We received an apology and vouchers from the theater, so I went back a second time to see it again (this time alone). I liked the film very much but being able to watch in the comfort of my own home, free from wackos and texters, will allow me to achieve a better comprehension of the action taking place.

Why are you here if you haven't seen the movie? This is a discussion of the Blu-ray. There is another thread for the movie.

Many in real life have come back from "the undiscovered country, from whose bourn, no traveller returns" shortly after dying. Same can be applied to Fischer. But Ariadne should go straight back to the plane once she jumps from the building.

Again though... still a grade A film!
I understood this part as Ariadne and Cobb going into limbo through Cobb's subconcious. Because Fischer was "dead." So Ariadne dropped out to Cobb's subconcious first level. She wouldn't wake up to reality, because she still had to go through Fischer's dreams.

a few questions about the movie.....

1 - Why didnt Saito just kill himself once he went into limbo?

2 - Why couldnt Cobb just show Mal the spinning top when they were in limbo to show her is was a dream... and show her the top in reality when she thought she was still dreaming??

Not sure on 1, on 2
[Show spoiler]She put the top in the safe because she wanted to accept limbo as her reality, when he corrupted her totem, he also corrupted her mind, even after they escaped.

[Show spoiler]He used her totem to somehow plant the idea inside her head that their world wasn't real, an idea that carried over into the real world, this is also how he learned inception was possible.

[Show spoiler]People in that world tend to put important things in a safe, she put her totem in there, her way of saying I accept limbo as my reality, I guess. He corrupted her totem inside her safe, they didn't really explain how that caused inception though.

[Show spoiler]By spinning Mal's totem, Cobb is placing a very simple idea (the world is not real) inside her subconscious. It's not that she saw the totem spinning, but that it was always spinning in her subconscious mind. This is why she thought she was trapped in the dream world.

Remember, in Mombasa Eames said that when performing inception, the idea should be in its simplest form. With Mal, the inception of 'the world not being real' is neatly tied to the totem, which is the link to reality. So, at its simplest, by Cobb corrupting her link to reality in her subconscious (the top forever spinning), Mal thought the real world was a dream.

Anywho, just listened to the 5.1 score. Damn awesome!

Start the movie, and watch from 0:00:20 to 0:00:40

Holy shit, how it gives me goosebumps every time.
