I don't remember this part of Bloodsport where he's a kid, how could I have missed that all the other times I've seen it. I believe this is Van Damme's first action film and it's quite a good one. Kumite is a good subject for movies and this movie did it well, with a solid cast and plenty of drama, surprised it's not more popular. 5/5 for the movie, 3.5/5 for the PQ, 2.5/5 for the AQ. Really wish they'd release other Van Dammes like Lionheart and Double Impact, might be a long wait for those.

Ah well, you'll need to create a transdimentional portal that crosses through the life/death barrier into the alternate universe in which alchemy supercedes science. And then you'd hire a cab or take a train to drive a few thousand miles.
Well that explains everything - you don't have Black Swan playing locally because all of your theatres were destroyed in the civil war. That and I'm sure your local film cencorship board would likely cut out all the good Portman-Kunis action.

Lucky I fly the mighty C-130 Hercules. Hell, if I can drop Batman out the back, a transdimentional portal should be a piece of cake! The best part is I can fit the first 92 interested movie review club members, along with enough popcorn to last the trip .

Agreed. I was a HUGE Van Damme fan when I was a kid. Bloodsport was definitely one of my favorite movies. I must have seen it 100 times. Lionheart is a good movie too.

Was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting, really felt like Van Damme's version of Jet Li's The One. Not quite as good of course but still a solid movie about time travel with a couple of hot women and some solid action and drama thrown in. Recommended for those who haven't seen it yet, is $12.99 at Best Buy right now, bundled on the same disc as the excellent Bloodsport which I'm about to watch.
I thought the exact same thing when I saw "TimeCop" for the first time recently.

Some would say that's too highbrow, but I think it's about right. Hey, how about replacing the 5 point ranking system with one where we strictly use breakfast cereals.

I went from thinking i understood, to being completely confused.

What cereal would Black Swan be? Some ancient gruel from 1950's Soviet Union?

Most likely some kind of pink puff cereal. Dances with Wolves 5/5
The best cowboy and Indian movie I've ever seen and one of the roles I can tolerate Kevin Costner in. Definitely a very good movie with powerful performances from the Native American actors and some good action as well. Recycled story to be sure, although to be fair it was a lot more original back then before Pocahontas, Avatar and Last Samurai.

More than likely not. More than likely it would have razors inside as a prize and cherry bombs for marshmellows. More than likely you have not seen Black Swan.

And this last sentence confuses me, since the story of Pocahontas has been around since the days of............Pocahontas. I don't think "DwW" was ever praised for being original or groundbreaking. I think what makes "DwW" more believable than say Avatar, is it takes more than a couple minutes for the "natives" to accept the newcomer. This makes the Navi' seem stupid. It makes me not care if they die.
