One of my favorite movies, highly recommend you watch this movie if you haven't already.

I hope somebody releases a blu-ray steelbook version of this movie.

Original Aspect Ratio.... it's been cropped and zoomed in the CA version.

you have to get the expensive Japanese version to get the "real" film.
It's very pricey though--around $65 or so.

but if you can find it, don't let this deter you. I own the Canadian version and it looks + sounds DAMN fine to me. You can plunk down $65 for a superior Japanese edition but you're fine with this one as well.

I imported the Canadian release just two weeks ago for $15 after shipping and am very satisfied.

It looks and sound great.

It's 1.78:1 instead of 2.35:1 but it is NOT cropped (aside from the effects shots) it is open matte. I think the open matte actually looks better than the original aspect ratio for this movie.

I wouldn't hesitate to grab the Canadian release if you want this movie on blu.
