Plus what you would call a "improvement" of making it non-linear, would not be a improvement in my book. Maybe a little less but not open world. I like FF XIII the way it is. I probaly enjoy it more because it is linear, but not too linear.

According to SE UK, FFXIII-2 "exceeds Final Fantasy XIII in every aspect".

XIII was largely regarded by most as amajor dissapointment for the series. I see this as a chance for them to redeem themselves and that will have to include some major changes

What does that matter? If everyone else didn't like it, I still would. So I think I can say that I hope it doesn't change. I like FF XIII and think it's fine the way that it is. If they change it too much, I don't think I'll enjoy this.

I don't know if I like the new look of Lightning either.

Awesome, awesome news

I was one of the minority who loved XIII....The only thing I can't shake is a 2011 release. I'd give that a 5% chance of being reality, I'd say 2012 takes the other 95.

FMV announcement trailer. *sigh*

If it focuses more on Lightning she'd better be a much deeper character this time.

What does itmatter? SE took a hit with FF XIII and the game got slammed and did not do as well as previous FF games. I see this as a change to redeem themselves and they wont do that if what they push out is more of the same from the last game. They really need to switch things up here

I'm going to withhold judgment on this until I see more. FF13 wasn't one of my favorites, mainly because of a weak and completely forgetable storyline (come to think of it, I can barely recall the main plot points) and bland characters. Why make a continuation of that story with those particular characters instead of a new adventure with a different premise? There are several classic FFs that never received sequels- why make one for a dud?
