Personally, I've never once imported a game. The 3DS being Region Locked has pretty much no effect on me. Seems like nit picking to me.

I'd be more concerned with battery life, but even that isn't enough to keep me from buying the handheld. I tend to play my DS at home near where I could easily plug it in. If away from home or a power source, I can't really see myself at any one place at a time where I'd actually play the 3DS anywhere close to three hours. It's not much of a concern.
