I ordered a replacement case from http://www.diskdepot.co.uk. They advertise the case as genuine Amaray and the picture seems to depict an Amaray case. The case I recieved however was very cheap and tacky looking. It closes but not tight. It's loose.
Can somebody confirm that Amaray cases (11mm) have silver logos (embossed?) and 'Amaray' written on the inside? This case has neither. The Blu-Ray logo on the front isn't embossed but just kind of etched and it's not silver but just left standard case colour. |

Vortex cases are made by AGI Amaray. They're one of the two (Vivas being the other) that are used in the US. The Vortex blue cases are typically 11mm whereas the Amarays, commonly used in the UK, are 14mm cases.
I'm not sure what type of case is used for the clear Blu-ray 3D cases. Last edited by rdodolak; 01-15-2011 at 09:14 PM. |

By the way, the first Viva clear case looks to be SAW 3D/VII/FC. |

Would somebody be able to tell me if the case in the following images is genuine Amaray 11mm case?
![]() ![]() ![]() I've received this case from two different sites: http://www.diskdepot.co.uk uksales4all (ebay store) They advertise them as genuine Amaray and even include photos of what appears to be genuine Amaray cases. The case in the pics above look nothing like the one the above sites have a photo of. |

UKSales4All is showing some other type of case in it's picture (generic case) even though the auction state Amaray. DiskDepot is showing the standard 14mm Amaray case in the 11mm Amaray listing. The hub on your cases look just like this one: http://www.amaray.com/cases_vortex_11mm.asp Here's a better picture. The center of the hub is a triangle; your's are more round. http://www.amaray.com/cases_colours.asp |

Take it back where you got it from and ask for an exchange to a better case Contact the studio that released it and ask them to send you a new case |

AGI Amaray manufacturers two types of Blu-ray cases; (1) the standard 14mm Amaray case typically found in the UK and (2) the Vortex cases typically found in the US (AGI Amaray acquired these cases from MeadWestVaco). Both types of cases have embossed silver blu-ray logos. |

Paramount uses Viva Elite. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-5-VIVA-Elite...item1c152c4d94 Cheaper to buy at least 5. It's always good to have extras too. Quick tip: Sometimes if you search the title on eBay or Amazon, there are pictures of the actual Blu-ray, and they show what case they're in. I say sometimes because usually stock pictures are used, OR the seller used their own case. But if you see a good 2 or 3 auctions with the same title in the same case, chances are that's the one. Either that, or search other titles by the same studio. But yeah, Paramount is Viva. |

Ended up taking some pics ![]() ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us ![]() Shoot Em Up and Assassination Of Jesse James were replacement cases since my current cases were broken on the inside.(The button that you push to get the disc out was all cracked up, so it barely held the disc in place). Zach and Miri was a swap since The Weinstein Company always uses Viva Elites and for some reason mine came in a Vortex. ![]() In The Loop and House of the Devil just looked better in Viva Elites, which I was I switched them out. Saw II for some reason came in a Vortex when I bought it a few Black Friday's ago. ![]() Hot Rod was purchased from Blockbuster, so I needed a replacement case. Saw and Reservoir Dogs were both in Vortex as well from a Black Friday purchase. Now all my Lionsgate titles match with Viva Elites! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
