Default The Matrix 4?

Wachowski's are working on a movie called "Cloud Atlas" at the moment, once that concludes they will talk again.

Theres more at the link regarding some of his other potential projects but it sounds like they're really considering doing it. I'd be up for another go with these movies

Would it really make sense with the ending of Revolutions? Ah hell, none of the films made too much sense. They should quit while they are ahead. The last two films were okay at best IMO.

Agreed. They should of have quit with the first Matrix. Resident Evil Afterlife might as well be the new Matrix movie with Zombies

Can't really get any worse than the last 2 movies and I'm sure they're aware of that.

Sh!t. I wouldn't mind seeing The Matrix in 3D. If they do it, I'll probably jump to 3D a little earlier than planned.

The last two were a big step back from the first, but I still enjoyed them. So I wouldn't mind some more movies coming out in the series.

But I'd have pretty low expectations based on the last two movies and them having not done much else. Well I love V for Vendetta--but they just wrote that (and it was an adaptation) and produced it.

The best way to make a sequel to a brilliant movie is to get someone else to do it. The two examples that come to mind r Aliens and Empire Strikes Back.

Honestly, as long as they're better than Revolutions I'll be happy. Reloaded may not be brilliant, but it's got some great set pieces and is a lot of fun to watch. But the first is still my favorite. If they think they have a great story to tell, I'm all for another go around

I'll never understand the hate for Reloaded and Revolutions. Sure, they're not as good as the first one, but so what? They're entertaining enough in their own right. But anyway, the third movie tied up Neo's story pretty definitively, IMO. Not sure there's a reason to bring his character back that won't feel tacked on or forced. But whatever. If they make them, I'll see them. I'm a sucker for a good franchise.

I don't mind a revolutionary vision (which got screwed over the last a revolution took place ). The Matrix had the potentials to be beyond perfect, then came reloaded and revolution which weren't so revolutionary.

Should I be optimistic about the next film?

I dont hate either movie but they just seem text book examples of what u get when u try to top urself. Everything was bigger, badder and more over the top except the script. What made Matrix so good was the script. Sure it was way cool but the story was so solid u bought right in and the rest was the icing.

It's laughable that this thread is filled with so many statements about how the last two movies were garbage. I've said it many times that it's just a sign of (usually) folk that just didn't understand the dang things.

Unfortunately, what's more laughable is including Keanu in any future Matrix films - it just confuses the purpose of the One. Unless, that is, Reeves played a completely different character than Thomas Anderson, highlighting the fact that identities are completely interchangeable in the Matrix.

After all, his physical form was not destroyed at the end, so he could be jacked back in to the Matrix (and escape again). Except in this iteration, he would not be the One for this goaround... someone ELSE would be the One (and tick off the non-understanders even more )

Hmmm. Intriguing.

Doc

No need to go down that road....I hate when people suggest that people who don't like certain movies just didn't get them or understand them.

I liked the last two ok, but they were a definite step down from the first. I understood them fine. I just thought the story was silly and pretentious at times--especially the third one. It was a bit convoluted I guess, but I think most people who watched them understood the plot.

Anyway, there just seems to be far too much of people having to in some way insult or be condescending toward people who have different opinions on movies than them on these forums (and movie forums in general).

At the end of the day, the only opinion that matters is your own. I just don't see the need to go around suggesting those with different opinions just didn't get the movie, or have poor taste etc. as I've seen done in several threads lately.

People need to learn how to respectfully disagree with one another. Especially on things as silly as movies that are meant as art and entertainment--two things that are very subjective.
