easy, just look at the back. If its dark blue or black, then its a copy.. If its silver or almost see through its real.

If the price is too good to be true, it almost always is.

And yes, if you happen to be trawling eBay or vacationing in Asia (well, with the possible exceptions of Japan and Singapore), be wary of BD (and DVD) vendors.

Does anyone know if they can damage your Blu Ray player in any way?

I think i may have a bootleg :-s

It plays and sounds great but the bottom is blue.......

I won't damage your blu-ray player but it may damage your pride. That sucks. Sorry.

It's a bootleg. I would leave it alone. At any time the manufacture for your player could send out a new software update that prevents your player to play bootlegs. Also, you may be harming your player if it's working harder to read the disc. You may be saving money on one end, but if you have to replace the player in a year or so then it's defeating the purpose of saving money.
