Well they could but it's more realistic if he just stays drunk, he reminds me a lot of my best friends mom. She has pretty much been just like Frank for the 20 years I've known him, except for a brief 1 year period of sobriety that was followed by 12 more years of alcoholism and gambling addiction.

Yeah thats true. Plus the impression they gave is he likes it lmao so they can't all of a sudden have him hate being a drunk (unless say a tragedy strikes the family )

If you all like the american version so much, have you ever thought about watching the english version, We're on the 8th season here, and it is one of my fav shows of all time. They are planning on showing the american version over here at some point and i have downloaded the first couple of episodes and i do like the translation (but i do prefer the english version of Frank to me he is irreplaceable lol), the obvious british response is american stealing our ideas instead of just using the english version, i am of the opinion why cant we just enjoy both, at the end of the day it has to relate to the audience, northern england is much different to southern england, and many people from the south can not relate to shameless. coming from Manchester i find shameless very close to reality, although i am not from the area i know many people who are. the story lines are similar in both versions but the american version gives you 2 perspectives of 2 different social aspects, from a deprived Chicago area and a deprived area of Manchester area. All i would say is if you havent seen the english version check it out. it will probably give you an idea what to expect in the future too.

I agree lol its just a tv show its not like were stealing advanced government secrets Who knows maybe some people here will prefer the English version of it, but would have never known without seeing the American version, and maybe some English people might prefer the American version as long as their are tons of good tv shows I don't care where they originate

I would love to check it out. But only if I can view it in HD Season 1 on blu-ray yet?

No they havent released any series on Blu ray yet, channel 4 are starting to release Blu rays now so shouldn't be long, I think they shown the first 2 series of shameless on BBC USA. But if you wanna be sneaky just download it, theres another show that's being remade in the states from channel 4 called the inbetweeners check the uk version of that out its hilarious, it's finished over here now they're not making anymore series, they only made 3 series 6 episodes in each. They are also making a feature film of it this year.

I also highly suggest watching the Inbetweeners as MTV won't be able to capture the magic of the UK series and it's one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. The movie comes out this August in the UK and they are going to be airing 2 specials that take place after the movie this year or next year.

Brilliant ain't it the inbetweeners. It's the only programme that can keep you laughing at the same joke. I can't wait for the film they're shooting in next month it said in the paper yesterday

Yeah I could watch the same episode again and again and laugh like it's the first time I'm watching it. I have living in the US as I won't be able to see the movie in theaters and will have to wait for BBCA to release it if they even do.

Lol I'll have to let you know how hilarious it will be lol. You can always import it on release though it will probably be region free film 4s releases usually are.

Yeah I'm thinking I'll just have to import it as I'm sure the UK will get a Blu-ray and even though BBCA does release Blu's I can't be sure that inbetweeners will get one. That's good that Film 4s are usually region free.

Last night's show was great. Haha stealing the kid then executing a method to get him back so no one gets in trouble.
So far I'm really loving the writing on this show.

This weeks episode proved one thing, that family is completely Shameless. I love how every one of them took part of the con, they are awesome. What's funny is I was thinking earlier in that episode the way the little blond minx was putting it out there teasing Frank it probably wouldn't be too long before she was nude as well, and not 10 minutes later......I am curious what that tattoo on her side is, I could only see part of the outline around her perkiness...

I love how they stole the boiler from the dead persons house. Classic stuff. My wife just look at each other and start laughing, you almost can't belive what you are watching.

I love that not only did they steal the water heater from a dead lady's house, but than someone stole it from them, and Lip was upset about it because people have no respect haha.

lol Great episode although I'd have rather the focus been on the family then the wacky side adventure of that clearly mentally unstable girl

That poor girl has such daddy issues she's playing with Frank? That is one disturbed young girl. "Just had some great Peni"

Poor Kev, the Gallagher's won't stop ruining his life, haha. Debbie is clearly insane also.

Amy Smart Gets Shameless
Quote:
Showtime’s already engaging Shameless just inched up even higher on my must-watch list with the addition of Amy Smart.

An alum of such TV shows as Smith and Felicity, Smart will play Jasmine, a neighborhood pal of Fiona’s who “is a little bit pushy and sexy,” AOL TV reports. Smart will first surface in the final two episodes of the series’ freshman season. Yeah, you heard me, boys: Emmy Rossum and Amy Smart. And I thought my Twitter wallpaper was nice.
