They are shaped specifically for the TDG-BR100 Sony glasses. They fit over the front lenses and are formed to fit the left and right lens, i.e. there is a left and right filter. It would be impractical to use them with other brands of glasses. When the filters are installed, the glasses fade to black at about 45 degrees of tilt in either direction, just as the Samsung glasses do without filters. The Panasonic glasses don't have the crosstalk/tilt problem. I am unfamiliar with LG's glasses. I would speculate that the design issue will probably be resolved in the 2011 Sony glasses. At least, I would hope so.

The only issue when using the glasses with the filters installed is some flicker in BD player and AVR displays which can be adequately addressed by dimming the displays.
