If this is a wrong page please move my thread elsewhere.

I'm totally in love with this site and have found many great great movies I've never even heard before. If you could just have a look at my current(+ordered) and wishlisted movies and recommend something else that YOU think might suit me, I would greatly appreciate your help.

Just ordered 6 films so I might have to wait a while until shopping again, but for the next time..

I have a feeling there's a thread like this somewheren else, but I don't know where so I'll just sick with this one.

Now, I don't have a huge collection myself, but there are a few things I could recommend.

I recommend getting a few more Bonds and especially Quantum of Solace, since you already have Casino Royale. Now some say it isn't great, but if you actually watch it alongside Casino Royale it's a far superior film and everything makes much more sense.

I also see that you're after a few animated films and perhaps they should be what you get yst, since you don't own any. Obviously any Pixar film is great, but I'd also recommend getting some of the Disney classics too, because it is suprising how great they look. The likes of Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 and Beauty and the Beast look incredible. However you may not be able to get all the ones out on Blu-ray, as Sleeping Beauty went into the Vault last January and Pinocchio and Snow White will be following this month too, so if you want Pinocchio as is suggested in your Wishlist then get it now. But places such as eBay are likely to have Sleeping Beauty, just for a much higher price, and Pinocchio and Snow White will still be available for a few months to come.

Again, thanks a lot. To be honest I'm a bit old school when it comes to Bond-movies. I prefer those Connery/Moore/Dalton-era films over the new ones. Craig is fine as Bond but there's just something missing.

To me a good script and cast are the most important factors and maybe that's why I'm really into classic 50-70s movies and love what todays technology can achieve. It's like watching a brand new movie.

Hey Kruger Industrial,

Let's start with 5, which are in my top 25, that you currently don't have:

1. Full Metal Jacket (1987)-Vietnam War film. Boot camp portion is wild.

2. 12 Angry Men (1957 original)-Hung Jury film, Great script.

3. The Sting (1973)-Con Artist film with Newman, Redford & Robert Shaw...'nuf said.

4. Talk Radio (1988)-Dallas radio shock jock attempting to go National. This is my favourite Oliver Stone film.

5. Taxi Driver (1976)-NYC cabbie (DeNiro) who is unstable at best. My favourite DeNiro role & Scorsese directed film.

.....Enjoy!

Saw this for the first time last night. Incredible movie. For a movie limited to one setting, it manages to be very engaging from start to end, thanks to a top-notch script and wonderful acting by the ensemble. I tend to dislike old classics because they feel outdated and highly regarded only for the ideas and techniques they started, but this one stands the test of time. Highly recommended. Hope they release it on blu someday.

Hey there filmnut and jvince.

I have only added movies to my wishlist that are currently available on Bluray. So Taxi driver definitely will be on the list once it's available and if pq is outstanding! Added Full Metal Jacket though.

I don't blame you, I've been "spoiled" on the quality of 1080p myself. Still, it could be some time before we see classics like The Sting or 12 Angry Men on Blu, and the most recent DVD releases of each look extremely good even on my 47". Unless you're into blind buys, they're certainly worth a rental at the very least.

I mean, by limiting your funds set aside for buying movies, you can actually watch and enjoy them without self induced pressure from a big stack of movies you have bought and "need" to watch. I still have to many films that I own , which have not been viewed yet.

I have been buying too many films as of late.
