The reissue on How the West was Won turned out to be a single disc version of the flat version. The Cinerama simulation or "Smilebox" disc was NOT released again. So the original Digibook release will become a very sought after "collector's item" in the years ahead.

Lesson to be learnt here: Don't wait once Digibook releases are available. You may lose out if you do.

I didn't want the Cinerama version anyway so for $15 at Wal-Mart I thought it was a good deal. I was tired of waiting on the Digi-book to drop below $20, which it never did.

Doing this can be a sure way to missout on a digibook release your interested in. Of course you could always try sites like ebay for a used copy once they are oop. But then they may even cost more for just that fact?

I think I got "How The West Was Won" via GoHastings, "Used" but it came shrink-wrapped with pricing stickers anyways Either way, It was during one of their sales, and I think it was $16 or so, but I bought multiple titles during that sale, so I can't really tell for sure how much shipping would have been by itself...... $20 is the "Buy it now" price for these things, because if you want them, you have to jump pretty fast.

B2G1 sales etc. are another good way to include items like these (where sales rarely happen) as the price on Digibooks (for whatever reason) seems to be rather inelastic.

I just ordered "An Affair To Remember" and "All About Eve" two films I'm looking forward to upgrading greatly..... for $34.xx shipped from DVD Empire.... there is a 10% off code (google it, or look in the "All About Eve" thread)

I got lucky and bought HTWWW and NBN using the discount coupons that were posted in the deal forum last year. It came out to $9 off per title.

I have another $10 in reward zone money so I thing I am going for Doctor Zhivago next later this week. I always loved that film. But I am also thinking of Shawshank Redemption?

(Bestbuy as both at $29.99 ea.)

I did get lucky and picked up Doctor Strangelove on sale there at $19.99 last month.

I've seen Shawshank bounce around in price on Amazon, and be included in sales elsewhere.....

Dr. Z is a beefy package (with CD sampler etc) and looks to be one of those titles that will rarely be on sale..... I'd pick it up first to be safe.
