I like just the logo on each spine, across all 7 is too limiting and looks bad with the gaps between cases. Plus the way I designed it, you can put them in order by number, or order by favorites without messing up the spine titles.

Even if they make part 1 & 2 of Deathly Hallows UCE, plus a 3D version since it will be released that way in the theater, I plan on just keeping year 7 to hold it all.
Never was a fan of cases like Battlestar 4.0 & 4.5 etc. - 7 books, 7 cases.

But seriously, those customs make me wish I didn't just buy years 1-6 during BF Week. Right now I am okay with how they are but will be wishing for something like this for normal sized cases

Loving these covers, for the back you could just keep it to the blurb from the back of each book and then the specs/legals without any pictures. That way you will maintain the clean, book look.

I'm loving these - keep up the good work. Although these are intended for the Ultimate Editions, I'd still use them for the regular versions. Looking forward to the completed product.

Im looking at doing regular elite case size designs, but it will all depend on how the spine will look because its much thinner, if it works, I will make them.

Wow! Those are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! When they are done I may be asking you if you would be kind enough to share them! Any chance you could throw a 7.1 and a 7.2 on there though for those of us that want to keep them separate? Just kidding, just kidding ! Keep up the awesome work!

that is very very nice indeed! If I wasn't so anal about having my movies in individual cases I may have asked you for that, but alas I think I'm a little OCD about my movie displays...

Edit: I really really like how you let the backgroud out on this cover. Didn't try to put too much information on the back and let the pic show through. too many credits and synopses could have muddled things up.

Thanks! I know, because I tried to get all of that stuff on there!

I also made individual cases with a similar front design, and additional info on the back. I keep mine in 2-BD cases with the DVDs.
(Edit: Oops, I just noticed I need to fix the second "THE" on BENEATH!)

he he he I didn't notice that... As an art student (pencil and paint on canvas, nothing to do with computers sadly) Its ingrained in me to look at things like where your eye is drawn to in a particular piece. In this case the break in the colors and the pic of the ape, plus all the stuff on the back is slightly off center (which is a GOOD thing) so your eye is drawn around the entire piece and not just to the center... I like it... BRAVO!

I found out a few days ago that Papillon will be coming to Blu-Ray in May. Like many other releases, I hate what they did with the cover art:

so I decided to use the original artwork. This is a work in progress; I haven't done much with the back yet and probably won't finish it until more info is released.

I like that art as well, it looks good (it would make for a cool slipcover, too!). Maybe you could carry more of the front design elements onto the back, too?

I don't hate the digibook design, it's just a little generic. Probably the result of a marketing meeting: "Let's replace the cool original art and see if we can sell 5 more copies." I've been to those meetings.

Surprised no one has posted Apocalypse Now or Hearts of Darkness covers. The BD case for the 3-disc set is terrible, and too big.
