14 or 16 gauge should be fine for speaker wire.
Get high speed (category 2) HDMI cables. 28 gauge should be fine for short runs. 24 gauge is better for longer runs. 28 gauge is more flexible, which is good in racks and tight spaces. |

for an 8ft HDMI cable, I would suggest you get the 28AWG cable.
The 24AWG with netting is fairly heavy and not very flexible. Im a huge proponent of Monoprice, and have both the 28AWG and the 24AWG...trust me, the 28AWG is probably what you want. ![]() |

HDMI cables are rated either "Standard" or " High Speed". (may also include an ethernet channel, but that's irrelevant.)
So basically, there is no such thing as an HDMI 1.4 cable. The HDMI version depends on the HDMI Transmitter/Receiver chip being used in each device. Not the cable. |
