The shipping sounds crazy to me. I have EVERYTHING for the TV EXCEPT the box, so I'm clueless how to ship something this big. I know how to ship (just look at my ebay id: jonv8944s), but something this big is beyond me. So whats why im prefering a local pickup. Jon |

To believe that somehow it's going to at all represent Kuro Elite performance, when Kuro was using PDP technology, seems like a massive stretch of logic and/or imagination don't you think? ![]() |

I don't see how Pioneer or Sharp are a fool for using the Elite name for high end LCD's. Please explain it to me. Anyone expecting an LCD to exceed the 2nd gen Kuro Signature Elite might be a fool though.
But if Sharp puts the Elite name on the 70" 3d LE935, it will probably be pretty decent. The LE935 got some props at CES. ![]() I think you really mean Panasonic is a fool for not releasing a Panasonic Kuro. |

And everybody who knows about the elite name wouldn't even think about touching this. You would think pioneer would work with panasonic to adopt the name, you know the company that bought your kuro tech ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVSRm80WzZk By the way, didn't you have pics of your HT? I think i remember seeing them. Might be thinking of sombody else. Last edited by saprano; 01-30-2011 at 10:59 PM. |

It's something I would have to see to believe, but then I'd also have to come up with the money to do it myself as I don't know anybody with my TV that is also calibrated professionally. |

I don't think you low-balled it, perhaps for eBay you did where most sellers are just profiteering and/or don't know better places to look. I've seen lots of PRO-151's go for around $3500 on sites that people in the know would look on.
The 5020 and 6020 also have a work-around now which lets calibrators access the service menu panel to allow for pure mode and ISF mode, giving a calibrated result that is practically on par with the ELITE models. See here: Quote:

Haven't posted any pics other than asking with type of LCD I should put in my non-light controlled living room. I still haven't bought one due to the work in progress but will probably buy something this summer. Link |

I'm looking at a used LX5090 this week-end. It still has a full year of warranty left so that's a major plus.I've heard a lot about ''optimum'' mode being bad for overall pq and lifespan of these tv's. Is this true? And if so. Can I just look in the service menu if the contrast has been boosted too much? On a tv with approx 2500-3000 viewing hours. Would it be recommended to let it be if the previous owner always watched it this way,or is it nog that bad as people say?The guy himself doesn't look like a ht freak to me so I don't think he fiddled with the controls too much. Just wanna make sure. I'll be able to testplay the tv. Any other things I need to take a look at?He's asking 1800€ (2000 Us Dollars) for the Kuro with full year premium warranty, original sidespeakers and original wall mounting. Seems like a nice deal? Thanks everyone.

It is possible Panasonic will make a display that looks as good as a Kuro, but they show a lack of attention to detail to do it at this time. The precision that the last generation Kuro's displayed in key video performance factors like color accuracy in dark and bright scenes, accurate gamma, great black levels, reasonable light output, color uniformity, resolution, durability and high quality video processing has yet to be matched in a flat panel. If you are looking for this level of quality front projection is the only place this level of precision is found in today products. |
