EDIT: I just now noticed your HT gallery thread.
If you're liking them now, just wait for the 30s to break-in. I know it's a controversial topic, but when I first got my 50s, I thought they sounded pretty bad. There was no depth to the soundstage. Had I not auditioned the RC series extensively prior to purchase, I may have sent them back. After about 25 hours they really start getting warmed up and by 50 hours, are probably completely broke in.

That reminds me, I should really put some pictures up in my gallery rather than only in my thread.

I hope my 30's would sound better once they break-in period ends. That's why I stated in my post last week that my C-C100 center and my RC-30's sounds about right or the same. Oh well, the C-C100 will be replaced.

Yeah I only looked at the pics on your thread and I was about to ask about your HT gallery pics.

I've been meaning to get around to it. Though now I'll probably wait until I get a center.

If you check out my current HT gallery. I did mine in order.

Since December 2010. I've been going through an upgrade phase. All the stuff is current. New TV, to new stand, receiver, to new subs, and then the upgrading to tower speakers.

I listen to the B&W 685 and 686 and both CM bookshelf speakers. I listen to Energy CB10 and CB20. I will say that those Energy speaker definitely shocked me. I was expecting the B&W's to come out the clear cut winner but man I kept going back to the the Enerygys. I was amazed at the sound coming from $350 energys. They are definitely more laid back than the B&W's which were a little foward to me. Energy has really caught my eye. Just my thoughts
I had the exact same experience with the CB10 & CB20( The dealer kept trying to steer me towards Klipsch, but I kept going back to the Energys. ). If their entry level sounds that good, just imagine how much better the discontinued RC & the new Veritas sound.

They play in that PSB/Paradigm/B&W range. Now you know why I suggested the V5.1 the other day in your thread.

I don't know if I fully understood, but did you say the Def Techs sucked?
Keep pushing them! I wish more would listen to you & BigAl87. I prefer their sound to Polk & Paradigm entry level( I've never heard the PSB or B&W entry level. ). As of this time, I still intend to replace my bedroom Paradigms with Energys( CB-10, CC-10, CR-10 or perhaps RC-10, RC-LCR, RC-R ). One of the best speaker bargains right now is the heavily discounted RC line( A flagship model speaker at near entry level prices. Real wood veneers too. Insane! )

B&W was good, but the CM's did not prove to be that much better than the 68X series bookshelves.
What Def Tech model # did you listen to?

The bi-pole design to me is a little bit of gimmick to make them more expensive and differenciate them from the pack. JMPO. I know others won't share it, and that is OK, but thats how I feel. Big Daddy has the 2000 series def techs, and those I like a lot. I don't care what HTM says about the new Def Techs, personally I wouldn't spend $1500 on them when I can buy my Dyns.
I'm glad I got 200x series...
( I've never heard the 700x series or the new series. )

What do you have powering the RC-30's? I noticed quite a bit of difference in sound from a lower powered receiver Onkyo 605 to stepping up to the Onkyo 805. This isn't just at high levels either. Tighter bass, fuller sounding vocals and midrange, just a richer more satisfying sound.

The sound could change some running them unplugged versus plugged as well, also the distance from the wall has quite a bit of impact on the sound.

I'd hate to bring you into the path of upgraditus doom but you could "rent" a significantly (quite a bit of difference from the onkyo 605 to 805) higher powered receiver from a Best Buy or something. The Onkyo 605 is closer to what you have than the 805 in terms of power, like I said I noticed quite a bit of an improvement in SQ. That said I was fairly happy as to how it sounded on a lower powered receiver but reading up on forums convinced me to try better and now I don't want to go back. If you do it, make sure you compare just running the speakers and nothing else.

I just get the vibe you are probably under powering them a little. And frankly your other speakers probably don't take as much to drive which is why they probably don't sound much different to you (one getting adequate power, one not fully.. kind of like a civic versus a sports car running on really low octane fuel). For example the Energy Veritas (Flagship speakers) sounded like shi& when powered inadequately back when we were selling them.

Keep in mind I used to be a "sick" audio video freak with constant upgraditus I use to sell home theater gear for quite a while at the good guys as well (who sold Energy among other brands).

Haha. I've been upgrading everything since December from TV to subs, and receiver. Check out my HT pics.

Nah, I'm actually happy with my Pioneer. I'm not going to get anything else. My setup sounds very good to me. I'm pretty happy with it.

I was coming off a Marantz SR5002 but that acted up so I ended up getting the Elite from BB.

My new RC-30 fronts sound better when I had the C-200's as my fronts. When my new speakers are done with the break-in period. I might add more comments and do a full review.

Your new setup looks great MaCruz. My LCR is expected to come in Friday. After that I need to find stands for my RC-10's and get rid of those old speakers they are sitting on. Next year I'll upgrade my AVR and possibly a pair of RC-30's if I can find them, and move the 10's to the rear.

Thanks for the link, I'll check that out. I ordered my LCR on Sunday night, and it didn't ship out until Tuesday AM. I've been tracking it on the UPS site and the original delivery date was Monday, then it changed to and early delivery date of Friday.

Dang, I might get it possibly a week from today. Oh well, I can wait. No biggie.

Also if you want a speaker stand that hides the speaker wire. Check these out. I have 3 pairs of these stands and they are great! Pics of course found in my HT gallery tab folders.

http://www.amazon.com/SANUS-SYSTEMS-...6674654&sr=8-1

The only problem is that you need to tighten the screws slowly or it will start cracking the wood. Just ease up and check to make sure the screw is going in straight to the hole. That's my only word of advice if you decide to get these. I'd recommend them to anyone though.

I'm trying to find something that's about 26" tall if I can find it. The speakers they are standing on now are 25 1/2" tall and the tweeters are just below ear level. I think 26" would be about perfect.
