Whoops! Sorry, got it now.

I forgot about that movie totally. I haven't seen it since it first came out on VHS - I am pretty sure I liked it. Would definitely at least rent that one on Blu.

If you like the film, there is a French DVD with a very good anamorphic transfer and good English 2.0.

Are we discussing US-only here?

Because Halloween H:20 and Scream both have an anamorphic DVD overseas (and a BD release in Canada). Lots of the titles you listed have anamorphic DVDs in other regions... (I have them. )

Anyway, to add to the list: Adventures in Babysitting, Career Opportunities

One of my all time favorite war movies never got an anamorphic release...

Yes, I put it in North America to cover US releases, but I went and adjusted the OP to reflect that as well to avoid confusion.

I also noted for SCREAM that there was a non-US release - any that you'd like to share let me know, I'm noting them as we go so people can decide if importing is right for them.

Thanks very much to everyone! Should be fully updated with new posts, let me know if I missed one!

Hocus Pocus
The Great Locomotive Chase
The Happiest Millionaire
Hercules (1997) [still hasn't!]

Disney has a number of them (for both titles released under their brand and others). It's pretty sad to see how many in 2011.

Turbulence (1997)

US release was 1.78:1 anamorphic.

UK release was 2.35:1 non-anamorphic.

I have NO IDEA who currently owns the rights to this film but it needs a better home video release.

The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974).
The original and the best! Too bad it's not on BLU.

I think this movie only got a pan and scan DVD and didn't even get a non-anamorphic widescreen release. It's great move by Peter Weir.

I don't think this was ever even released on DVD at all:

Amazing considering that this was John Belushi's last film.

Doesn't look like it was issued in Region 1 territory but it certainly is available on an anamorphic DVD in Europe.
