It would be awesome to have the shifting aspect ratios make their way to Blu-ray. To tell you the truth, in IMAX 3D, you don't even notice the shifts. With films like the Dark Knight or Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, they're easy to spot. But with Tron, the shifts were seamless and I think it was because of the 3D experience.

Actually it's because the whole movie is "painted" against black There's no bright sudden increases

These are probably already authored and ready to go - but I wish we could encourage disney to use the shifting technique if they haven't already. The shift to Imax was impressive to me in the theater, and would be welcome at home.

I'm disappointed that my Imax theater closed in January for renovations, disrupting my plans to see the film again at IMAX 3D.

I hope they dont do shifting aspect. Shifting aspect when you have a 2.35 screen sucks! I hope they at least give us the option and have 2 versions like they did with Trans 2.

I liked the movie, but I thought the 3D was not so great. Then I viewed the 3 minute 3D trailer on Vudu, and wow what a difference. I have noticed how many of the Blu ray 3D movies look so much better than at the theaters. Pretty strange.

When I watched it in IMAX, the 3D was awful. The PQ was pretty fantastic though. I'm hoping the 3D is superior on the BD 3D like you've noted happening on a few titles.

Absolutely cannot wait for this flick. Neither can my friends. I'm gonna have to do 2 movie nights for this one. Not enough glasses to go around...

The 3D on TRON Legacy is mostly depth based, so don't expect an eyepoke. The trailer is concentrated porn footage.

Wasn't even any depth. I think we just had bad seats. (upper back far right)

Because the 3D tech at home is far more advanced than at the cinema, always looks loads better at home, cinema is passive and you dont use $100 glasses either.
